the comparison was done with cars driven by the same driver, the same day at the same hour and with "equivalent" cars (same brakes, same configuration, same tyres, etc. etc. etc)?

The same magazine (Auto) for instance tested a Huracan in november 2014 and a 918 in may 2015, they did the same laptime, 2'40", I don't think that 'coeteris paribus' they can do the same laptime.

Coming back to RS and GT3 comparison, believe me that the track conditions can play a major role in a track such Balocco (it was the historic test track of Alfa Romeo...at golden times of Alfa Romeo), not to say anything about driver (the same?), tyres consumption (it's quite strange the acceleration time in 0-100km/h since it is just a launch control matter, hence there must not be a good grip to loose 3/10 at start).

Moreover that GT3, which registered impressive acceleration figures (better than any other GT3 tested by other european magazine), was PPCB equipped and no clubsport, so a roughly 40kg lighter than this orange RS.

I'm quite unbiased (despite waiting for an RS in a couple of months) so I conclude saying that figures are a bit disappointing if I think about Preuninger words at presentation...the power is underrated, we began the homologation process a long time ago after that the engine was better tuned...letting us believe that the real output could be around 515-520 hp, the air intakes provide a ram effect at high speed giving extra power etc etc

Yes i agree with you but the whom believing when it comes to the.1 rs to fail...right is because the track conditions...

right said, AP and best car profit makers
have crossed the line (of dignity) in the sand

.1.1 Rs is a failed project born with Ring only in mind
and not able to beat neither the previous gen chassis in turbo sauce Rs

mission failed

not to mention that 8600 rpm are not consistent
(9k rpm is just the beginning didn t he said? with 10k as the next .1 Rs horizon)

go home!

underrated never heard something so fake from a marketing manager or a jurno clown

This discussion, or discontent by some is a bit humorous. For those that have driven on tracks of all lengths and complexities would know, some tracks tend to favor some cars over others. The complaint over a sub-second difference at a relatively short track is mind boggling. Case in point, a high HP car isn't all that much better than a low weight, low HP car on a 1.9mi technical course. I used to always avoid Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch in my GTR when they went with shorter configurations!
Extreme aero displayed on the RS needs a bit more room to be effective. Otherwise, both the GT3 and RS are essentially the same car hence similar times. The small difference likely coming from a bit more rubber and a bit more down low torque coming out of tight turns. The bigger time differences are definitely on display as the course gets longer, which is to be expected. Side note, I bet Lewis Hamilton is fine with "only" a ~0.3 sec advantage over those red cars

Provided he doesn't F**k up the start (again) or the new engine doesn't go "bang".

Default 991RS Review thread

Was there any rs allocation back in Jan? My dealer received allocations after they released the rs in March.
