4 seconds is sort of a long time.

Some guys will give up their left ********* for less time.

Ok, maybe not left ********. Just the right one.

straight line performances not exciting imho, in line with 997 4.0 despite big advantage given by launch control and pdk...
great car nevertheless

Never mind that most Specials are around 400K, twice as much.

I wonder how much of an impact the polar moment of inertia on the 21" wheels has on acceleration. I didn't check, but it's possible the 997 has a gearing advantage as well. Added pork does not help either.

The 458 is MUCH faster on the track, I didn't expect that.

Waiting for the Anglesey lap time by EVO.. The track above might be giving the advantage to the faster car in straight line performance.. I expected the results to be much closer though..

In Franciacorte race track (Italy) Evo Magazine Italian team has just settled the best lap time with the RS, almost 2 second faster than the standard Gt3.

I don't think it was a head to head per se, but the times mentioned are the times that they recorded when they tested the 458S last year. It should also mentioned that the Autocar rated the 991 RS above the 458S (2nd) and the 675LT (3rd) regardless of the times on the MIRA test track. --- Btw, thank you for the news about the Italian Evo results...as they say, driver & track conditions determine lap times and so on...

Just a bit disappointed in the times but as one has said, the Speciale is twice the price. RS is still an awesome car and I would think will win many awards.

Article says 0-60 times at 3.4sec are two up and full of fuel.... Stupid...

" Our two-way average of 3.4sec to 60mph shows that the car is every bit as quick as Porsche claims (3.3sec to 62mph) when you account for the fact that our figures are set two-up and full of fuel."

A bit disappointing considering how well the GT3 performs and the premium of the RS.

At Angelsey, by EVO, it will be interesting to see how close the GT3RS gets to the Speciale. What will be more interesting will be its comparison to the Turbo S on the same track. With the Turbo S, while you get the speed you also get luxury and all weather performance.
