Having driven the GT3RS months ago on track against the standard GT3 it seemed no quicker in a straight line...as these results bear out. The additional 25hp cannot overcome the additional drag of the car. Car and Driver tested the GT3 to 150 mph and it took 17.1 seconds. It will be interesting to see what time they achieve with the GT3 RS....

FYI.... Interesting review in the RS by Gerhard Berger (Former F1 driver) in latest Austrian Car magazine "Autorevue" ..... calles the RS the "sharpest street car" that he ever drove.... compares it to the F40... comments that the chassis could do with more power.... small critics on the too "luxurious" Interior....

Nice review! You guys think the 991.2RS will get 60kg less weight? That would be awesome!

It's all in the book. I'm 'trying' to follow religiously

Thanks for the advise guys! Will take it easy for the first 500kms… then all the way up to 8800rpms after 1,000kms

Can't knock his credentials and he should know F40's. Obvious he's been reading my posts on the interior.....

I spoke with some one over the weekend who drove the 991 GT3RS back to back several times on the same day with the GT3. This was on the track. He said that the RS did not feel quicker at all on the straights and felt it was to do the huge-*** wing. He felt the GT3 sounded better in the 8000 + rpm level. He did not like the inside noises from the RS. Says the fly wheel or some thing like that did not sound good. But- the car was superior over the GT3 in the turns because you could enter later with more speed and exit, as well. - Just one person's opinion I thought I would share and he has no bias to either car. Probably nothing surprising here.

So the GT3 is the more exciting experience and the RS is for those looking for something more predictable?

I have no idea but if that is your interpretation then okay. I am only reporting what was conveyed to me. I would have to drive the GT3RS, myself, before I make any conclusions

I knew that was going to strike a cord with RS owners. I am confident for the money they spent they do not want to be told or even hinted at that the non-RS may be just as good and fast around the track as the RS.

I'm still not changing my deposit from the 991.2 RS to the GT3. I actually like the idea of a little more surefootedness in the corners.

I also like the more aggressive look of the RS. Whether that will translate to the .2 is anyone's guess. In addition, when my wife finds out how much it costs and throws me out, I can eat and sleep more comfortably on the rear wing of the RS.
