EXACTLY. It amazes me how this thread has become a "destacaddo vs everybody else" type of affair.
destaccado does not like his 991 C2S with PDK......his thread in the 991 section is clear that he thinks it's a "snore".
I think almost all of us LOVE our 991 GT3. Why get so upset about destaccado (or anybody else) saying the 991 GT3 is "not really a GT3"?
The facts are clear:
1) The 991 GT3 objectively outperforms the 997.2 GT3 and every other 991 (with the exception of the 991 Turbo/S which are more expensive). The chassis (no matter whether it has cup car suspension or not) is improved over the previous generation, resulting in much less understeer, and a dialing out of the rear engine snappiness and oversteer. Those of us who go to track/lapping days know how special and capable the 991 GT3 is.
2) Unlike the "snore" feeling that destaccado finds with his own 991 C2S, the 991 GT3 is the most enjoyable/emotional car in the 991 range so far (as mentioned by all auto journalists and our collective impression as owners).
So we should just be happy......we all know (along with all the auto journalists who have reviewed the car) that the 991 GT3 is just what it claims to be: the most enjoyable, most track focused car in the range (until the RS comes out).
No Metzger? No manual transmission? That's right......but if Porsche still calls it a GT3, then that's what it is and what I will consider it to be.

So when (if?..although hearing more when) the '16 Cup Car rocks up using a derivative of the 991 GT3 street engine...can we return to this thread....
then we might be able to rest this hoary old chestnut of the 991 GT3 street being anything but a ludicrously outrageous indulgent....over the top.....whaling...scintillating....immersive to the point you'd want to make it part of you (EDITED : NSFW)......effin GT3.
and desco...i've a 7.2 RS and i can recognise a suitable descendant....
maybe when you've actually driven them both....you will too

GTS is not close enough to the GT3, no comparison IMO.
Porsche is in the business of the competition since almost 50 years with a massive hit list.
I believe in their word when they propose this car as a GT3 as they will never risk any impact on their reputation. As AP mentioned in the video, this is the biggest GT Project in the Porsche history and I think it is true.
Improvement from previous version is nothing else than better in all aspects.
you need to drive this car to understand.
All specialists awarded it as the Sport Car of the Year 2013, I do believe it is the minimum even with this fantastic barbecue option![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)
I am happy it is in my garage.

^ I agree. You really have to drive this car to understand. And I am not talking 30 min below 5500 rpm. It takes a little while to understand her. I am almost at 2 months with her and it gets better every time I take her out and I get more familiar with what She is capable of - which is quite a bit. I do not even track my toys and this is just an incredible road car. I read on the forum that if you do not track than just get a C2S - bull crap. This car can not be compared to the C2S and is so much more fun even on the streets. If I had the financial means and I had a Ferrari 458 Speciale I would save that for the weekends and DD this GT3

^ Just inquired to get via my dealership the winter tire/wheel package with the GTS black matte finish wheels instead of the TTS wheels. Was rebuffed, and was told that "the parts separately would be at least 20% more expensive than ordering the offered factory boxed kit," which is the TTS CL wheels and the Alpin PA4's.

GTS wheels are the TTS 2014 wheels, just in matte black, from what I can tell. Don't know the exact size in the offered package, as I can't get the specs of the wheels. The rears might be 0.5 inches less than the width of the TTS wheels listed on the configurator web site, to comply with the 11 inch width requirement of the tires, or maybe still 11.5 inches wide. Just speculating at this point.

Cosmetics aside, the GTS wheels are cast, not forged like the GT3, so are no doubt quite a bit heavier. They're also 1/2 inch narrower at the rear. FWIW.
