Maybe a few, but not many. There is no "blah, blah". It's simple. If 200 dealers in the US are charging MSRP for this car plus $1k shipping to the door, there are only a few people (regardless of how wealthy they are) that would grab $20k in cash and hand it over above MSRP for a car that is not even sitting on the lot.

But you and I certainly agree that there is some cohort out there that doesn't care about $ at all, and the elasticity of pricing for those people just doesn't matter, period. Agree with that. I just don't think there are many, and I think pricing gets hyped by dealers but actual transaction amount is different in many cases.

I currently have a 991 Carrera S which I bought in May, awesome car but a bit of an impulse purchase considering my previous Porsches were a 996 Turbo and a 997 Turbo. I just couldn't bring myself to drop $180k on a 991 T yet. I was on the fence between that and the GT3 anyway but wanted a toy so I bought the Carrera S. So as it will turn out by the time I pay the "I'm an idiot penalty" on trading in a '14 S with 2k miles on a '15 GT3 built to my specs I could have bought a turbo. Lol. Funny thing is I couldn't be happier. GT3 ownership ahead...
Was it same dealer as Mr Sullivan, samfromtx and I got our allocations from? I would PM you but you don't have enough posts.

Agree mostly, but Metro LA = 18m people. Me thinks there are enough willing to pony up over MSRP!

Good to see folks like KY, who had quite the nice stable of cars, come over to the 991 GT3 camp.

Hmmm…this sounds familiar. Sounds like the allocation I turned down. I should have sold it to you. Hahaha……

Congrats!

Not Park Place. I've only bought 3 cars from them. Tried to give them business...but it didn't work out this time. I was honest the whole way.

I couldn't be happier that more people are coming around and will get a chance to experience this car and add to our little community. In this case, falling dominoes are a very positive development!
