The droning actually kicks in and never leaves until you restart the engine. During the droning run, its extremely bassy at 4100 to 5500 and it affects the exhaust all the way down to idle. the shifts no longer sound poppy and idle is very rough. Once you restart, its gets that crisp exhaust opening at 4K and all is fine again. Very weird.
Its happened twice already and both time are highway runs.

Do you have a bypass on the car and is this when the PSE is activated or when it is just in normal mode?

No bypass. PSE activated. I tried to get rid of the droning at 5K by doing up to 8K, 7k but didn't work. Went to idle and revved to see if it sounded different and sure enough, it was. Its didn't sound crisp as original. Once I restarted the car, it was back to normal. I suspect a valve was stuck in half position and needed to be reset.

Oh, even with PSE not active, it still was droning. That could be the clue to the stuck valve.

^ Could be the case and some others' have complained of possible valve sticking. I would stop by your dealer if it is not too far and just have them give a quick look see. I am a piece of mind type of person so I get it. But - there have been some good dialogue on this forum that helped me not have to go to the Dealer. God knows we both need a break from each other

Dude,

I have experienced this alot on my first run of the morning to work and several times i think the valves and not opening and when im pressing the sports exhaust button just the light keeps going on but nothing is happening at the valves. i always want to take it to the dealer before lunch so i seat in the car start it and press the button and you hear it open at idle well and i switch it off and on and it keeps working and the whole day it works so i forget and move on.

I'll be going to the dealer tomorrow for her 1K mile check up. I'll ask the dealer to check it out and see what they find out.

What and when is the first scheduled maintenance with the GT3? I know at end of Nov before I store it I will get the oil and filter changed. Should be around the 2000 marker by then

I think the warranty books says every two years or 20,000 miles.

Also my manual says you should drive the car under 4000 RPM for 2,000 miles. Good luck with that. Again my engine was replaced at the factory.

wow, regular schedule oil changes are now only every 2 years or 20k miles? That would explain the track maintenance interval of 12k miles...

Joe, track interval for oil changes is 6K miles. Also, Clocked, the GT3 has a different schedule for oil changes than other Porsches. Oil changes should be done every 12 months or 12K miles. (pg 15 of maintenance book)

Just received my white GT3 yesterday, the front has faded compared to the hood.
It sat at the port for 5 months. The best way to see is outside on a cloudy day.
Hold function:
Does it work on any ones car?

In practice it will wait a second or so before starting to roll but it doesn't actually have a hold function like other Porsches.
