It's not unusual for the valves to stick although it usually happens when the sport exhaust system is bypassed and the valves are left in one position over a period of time. As was pointed out, an easy fix....
oh cool. thanks for clarifying. for some reason when it said "slowing moving valve" i was thinking it was the intake valves...

Mainly, its an easy fix. In fact, I should've just ran over a quarter or a dime and it would have bumped itself loose.

Dude, I experienced the same issue with the stuck exhaust valve today. The sound was completely different and more like a humming sound. I pulled to the side turned off/on the car and the sound of exhaust went back to normal. This is the 1st time it does this. I talked to service and they recommended to bring the car if it does it again and recommended to bring it there without turning the car off so that they can turn on and off the 3 valves using software to see which one is bad. Hope this is a one time deal.

Its happened twice already and both time are highway runs.
Same exact issue with my car today.

Two things, Kamal. I only know about 2 valves...one between each of the side mufflers and the center muffler. Very curious to know where the 3rd one is. Also, and this is totally speculative, but didn't both your and Dude's car sit at port for an extended period? I wonder if the sticky valves are in any way related to non use during that time?

I wonder if may be the down time for all of our 2014s have an affect on this valve. If more report we may want to contact Porsche headquarters and advise them that this may need to checked on the 2014s.

Mike, You may be right on port/salt water effects. I don't know. I should have driven the car right back to dealer without restarting. Service guy said 3 valves. I be sure to ask him about the 3rd one next time and report back. He did mention there was a 997 GT3 with same issue and they replaced each valve one at a time and the problem was solved.

You guys think sitting at port had an effect on exhaust valves? Highly, highly unlikely.

These machines are not delicate ballerina music boxes.

IMO.

My car sat a port since day 1 so I'm confident enough to say I'm Cat B+ or A-. I really doubt its because of sitting at port.

Not exhaust valves (I assume you're referring to engine exhaust valves), the flapper valves for the PSE. People who have disabled their PSE have reported issues with stuck valves after a time. Of course that's with engines that are in service.

Just seemed interesting that two cars which sat at port had experienced the same problem. May be a total coincidence. Anyway, all speculation.

Silver, once it gets stuck you will notice rough revs from idle. The good news is, its a very simple fix. It took my dealer 15 minutes and that includes lift and coffee break time.

Thx Dude, what was the fix? How many flapper valves did they replace? How did they pinpoint the issue ? Detail please.

Thx
