We painted a metal sheet today and the results are very very nice. On the sun the color is amazing. Not a tomato feeling at all and just sometime , expecially inside the building, out of the sun exposure, some slight salmon feeling . But sure something you can live with.
Lot of red accent in this orange...let me say. I putted it close to the sample of an official KTM orange just to compare the two colors. Unfortunatley to reproduce and show to you what my eyes were looking , is not possible. So take this just as a funny test. But to me...it looks great and really a "live" color with lot of red accent inside .
Definitively a nice choice...even if it is not possible to show you the real accent sorry.I posted the pics just to show what I tried to do..because I really can't predict what your monitor will reproduce. What is important for me is that when I have seen the real car in Geneve I told myself...not for me. Now I could really change my opinion. Hope this helps.

inside a building no artificial light

compared to a KTM orange. Until yesterday we loved it (in our workshop), now simply it disappears compared to the Lava O.

how it looks into a Mac monitor

outside.Sun not at 100% unlucky

again outside, the two orange
Really nice of you to post!

I was lucky enough to see the Lava Orange in Shanghai a couple of weeks ago. The color looks good live. I think it just comes down to personal preference. I'm not a big fan of the "look at me" colors so my Porsches are white. I like it but some will say its boring. No matter what color, the 1RS will look great! Same as the 991t3! It looks good in most colors..

waow 2G's

hope it is just isolated bad tire...otherwise assuming that tire will not support the maximum capabilities of the chassis do not sound good.
lack of availability is not a surprise

That would have put a dent in my confidence. Probably didn't effect WR much!

Yikes! 2G is a lot if it's the SC2 tire, aero may be having a significant effect. I've looked into a number of tire failures, and left rear is much more common than the others - seems to be due to a combination of high torque, high vertical load in the rear, and left tire being laterally and vertically loaded more (on average) on clockwise tracks. I'm somewhat concerned that this may be more than just a matter of an isolated bad tire. But alignment can also make a substantial difference, and it's possible that alignment was off on this particular car.

Selvatico: thanks for taking the time to do a mini PTS. Lava Orange looks almost red next to the other orange sample.

Yes, is the same 918 sizes. Wheels and tyres. But the RS wheels forged in aluminium desing. Not in magnesium and therefor more cheeper.

Sounds like somebody assumed black nozzles were standard and picked up their car and saw chrome!

Figure if you specify black nozzles then you are guaranteed to get black, and if it turns out they are actually standard equipment, I'd hope they'd refund your option cost at the end of the day.

Yeah, I was originally under the impression that the nipples were black, too. Just like the Cayman GTS, 991 GTS.

Apparently not.

I typically pay extra for them to be painted body color, anyway. But always good to be safe.

Worst case, you can get them unpainted from Suncoast or Sonnen Parts, and just paint them yourself for a meager cost.
