The GT4 is gonna be a great car. I love the concept of it. Its a little too track focused for me (No amenities like Bose, memory seats, etc)

I also have an M4 that is modified to probably around 540hp. It's a nice daily driver too.

I do think that I will keep the Z for a while. To me. it will be at least 12 months before there is another car (Ferrari 488 with 661 hp and ceramics brakes standard) out there under $1M that will offer as high or higher overall performance on the streets. In that, I mean 0 to 60, quarter mile, braking distance, lateral grip, slalom speed, hp/weight ratio, etc. Therefore anything I replace it with will be a downgrade at least in terms of those factors. I only go to the track a few times a year at most, and I never run more than 4 or 5 laps at a time, so that's not a priority for me at all. Sometimes, I don't even bring my own cars to the track, so I couldn't care less about the "heat soak" issue. I do think that at the latest, by next model year, GM would come up with a solution, namely a "track package" with different cooling options. Or they can just raise the price of the car by a few thousand if they even have to and include that all standard.

Its still a pretty good time to be a motorhead.

Why do you say that? The official 0 to 60 time for a MT7 Z06 is 3.2 and quarter mile is 11.1 at around 127, and several magazines have verified it. There are numerous time sheets posted online at dragstrips that has stock MT7 Z06's doing 1/4 mile at 10.9 and 127. I posted such a pic myself on Instagram. I saw an automatic last night doing one at 10.8 at 131 or faster.

Just tracked it yesterday at Streets of Willow. Did 4 sessions of about 10 laps or more each. Hard on the brakes and most of the track is 2nd and 3rd gear, with me using 2nd gear much more often, so it was doing 6K rpm throughout most of each lap. No heat soak. No error codes. No limp mode. Absolutely no brake fade. Funny thing is the fan didn't even come on until the end of the 4th session., and that was actually the first time since ownership that I heard the fan on. Maybe GM needs to adjust the timing of the fan to come on more often. Maybe that's the solution or at least a part of it.

Finished the day and drove home in traffic last 30 minutes. Still no fan on when I got home. My 911's and Ferrari's would be on after going to Starbucks. LOL!

Sport Cup tires are now all broken in. They look like they have seen some action!
