C5 Z06 @ 405 hp. (2002 and up)

C6 Z06 @ 505 hp. with many Z06 special components

C7 Z06 @ ~620 hp. anyone seeing a trend ?

I dunno, Chris, this doesn't look so promising to me:

Hopefully I'm wrong, these pictures are wrong, and you're right.

I wonder if they'll put in antisub pass throughs...?
New Z06 exterior design looks fantastic!

I dunno. I appreciate the value factor and definitely respect the package performance-wise. But beautiful? The MP4-12c, 458, and GT3 are beautifully executed cars. The Aston Marin DB9 and Audi A8 are beautiful. This looks like something out of a bad (are there any other kind?) Transformers movie to me. Not interested on that basis alone. Must be these old eyes.....

That is gorgeous. USA ought to be very proud of it. I can see that in my future, just got to convince the wife it is not a corvette.

What a difference 4 days make.....

eztrader--"hope it looks better. I still think a 14 yr kid could have done a better exterior design."

In a corvette?.. Usually in the passenger seat.'

Extremely impressive. I'm going to be hard pressed to spend twice the money on an RS.

Looks very impressive and as I'm looking for my 6TT replacement for track duty this Z06 really looks like he right answer. Looking forward to see where the price points come in at.

At least I'm staying consistent....performance aside, I still think it looks like an over-grown toy.

If they produce only 600, then the price would be 3.5x since it's a manual.

My opinion about the regular C7 did not change - I still cannot like it, even though I want to. But these pics show a huge improvement. Still not quite beautiful, but bad-***. I'd get that as track-only car if it drives well.

I agree by the way^^ I am not judging, just observing how attitudes have changed 180 degrees!

I don't think there are a lot of truly "beautiful" high performance track cars out there---more aggressive, purpose-built (from follows function I suppose) designs

IMHO...
GT3--simple but aggressive
Lambo SL or SF-- in your face design
Vette Z06-- aggressive and mean with a bit of cartoon
MP4-12C-- sleek but not eye catching
458 or 430 Scud (but not 458 Speciale) "beautiful"!

Aston's are truly beautiful but not in the same "track" class as the above

Thanks for including me, but I haven't changed opinions. The fact that GM claims to support track usage is interesting, but remains to be proven. Also, even if GM will warranty something breaking at the track, it will only take a time or two of being stranded at the track before it got old. I hope this car is built more solid.

Thank goodness! Went out to the track today with SamfromTX and blew out my cats for the 2nd time....on a 100% stock LS9. First one was a $4700 warranty repair as they replaced both cats, both mufflers (chunks of cat in the mufflers), and both rear O2 sensors. I'm pretty pissed though as I only got to run two sessions on a cold track.

I'll post my comments on Sam's 991 GT3 in his thread, but to sum it up, "BADASS."

On the C7 Z06, it's just stunning! Makes me want one that much more, especially with my cat issue...
