Definitely! We are in Los Angeles, and when it rains, I leave the cars outside so the floors don't get jacked up...

Arrival in San Diego is supposed to be 1/10, with delivery inventory on 1/24. As new GT3 noted, those are all Fridays, so they are obviously approximations, not specific dates.

Trucks probably don't leave for the port every day, nor do ships sail every day. If the timing is right, a car might not sit for a week before it heads to port or gets on a boat. My guess is those are worst case scenarios. Also, I don't think travel time from Germany to California will take over a month, and with luck it won't take 2 weeks to clear customs and get from Southern to Northern CA.

If things work out, this all gives rise to hope that a car will arrive sooner than expected.
Mike, looks like there is a 2 weeks buffer based on your car arriving next week? I am thinking my car arrives 3/14. No more changes to my order accepted. I tried yesterday and Atlanata said nope. my schedule below.

Is that to say your vehicle locked early or that the 1/10 fixed date is not actually the date you could stop making changes? Your turnaround is a bit better than mine which was a 1/3 lock date and 4/30 delivery. I'm hoping mine has a lot of buffer.
Edit I just saw the actual date column in your report.

Last column actual date is important. it locked on Dec 20th. Yesterday when I tried to add about $6K in options Atlanta said too late.

silverrules, right now my car is on schedule in that it was supposed to arrive in San Diego on 1/3 and that's when it showed up.

Next date shown on my schedule is 1/17 to leave San Diego and then 1/24 to be in dealer inventory. I suppose it's possible the car could sit in port for two weeks waiting for PDI and customs clearance but I'm hoping for less. Also, I don't see how once it's on a truck it will take a further week to get into the dealer's inventory. I mean, it's a 1-2 day drive from San Diego to my dealer. So I'm hoping the whole process takes less than two weeks, and I see the car sometime the week of the 12th. Probably wishful thinking that my car will show up at our common dealer with MaxLTV's.

As for the early lock, it's what my salesman warned me about when I was still in the can't-make-up-my-mind phase. He said that despite the printed lock date, the order could freeze at almost any time.

Actually no. The original lock date was supposed to be on Dec. 9th but they kept giving me more time until Dec 20th when it locked. I am cool with it. Now I can't change anymore and saves me more $$

I hope you're right! No plans for the introductory post.....I think I'll just let the moment take care of itself. So, probably something incoherent.

Correct. Factory kept giving me more time but not anymore. I am locked HARD I lost track of how many times I changed the order and they were cool with it. The sales manager is a car nut himself. 1st class dealership. Niello Porsche.
