Personally, I think they should make a non hybrid version of the 918... That is one sexy car.

Not sure I like the C&D rendition of the 960. I've seen much better looking ones that look more like a Cayman rather then a Panamera.

Depends on specs I suppose. Will it be a GT, a race car, heavy pig?

It doesn't sound like it's going to be that heavy. They're saying a bigger version of the Cayman.

It will probably share a platform with the next R8 and Gallardo. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the three corporate cousins are positioned.

If AWD is standard as they speculate, and it's certainly possible given the relationship between VW, Lambo and Audi now and will have a pdk, probably some rear stear in there too, and plenty of luxury, it will in fact be quite a turd.

If they make an RS version of some sort though, maybe not.

Default Porsche 960 - The 2015 Supercar

Porsche 960 - The 2015 Supercar

"Porsche is developing a new mid-engined supercar slap bang in Ferrari 458 Italia territory. Don't confuse this with the range-topping Porsche - the new Porsche 960 supercar will sit below the new 918 hybrid hypercar but above the maximum-attack 911s at launch in 2015..."

Porsche 961 confirmed...

"Porsche CEO Matthias Muller has finally confirmed that the company is working on a rival for the Ferrari 458 Italia..."

"Power is likely to come from the 4.6-litre V8 engine used in the 918 Spyder. Expect around 570bhp and a 0-62mph time of just over three seconds – figures to match those of the 458 Italia and McLaren 12C..."

They all look really different... The first looks like a Cayman and a F12 had a baby, the second looks like papa Cayman, and the last looks like a non-hybrid 918 - BTW, I love the idea of a non-hybrid 918

Recently Porsche executives have spoken on developing a car to compete with the 458. They said, "No need; the 991TT and TTS compete with the 458 now."

Makes sense given VW also has Lambo and Audi in its stable.

Over 3 seconds? Nobbled.
I guess if Porsche is trying to keep the 991 as the quicker platform, that's fine by me.
Why would one want a two-seater that's slower than 911 and costs 50% more?
Oh the genius of marketing.
