but....Aventador's in the UK market are proving rather resistant to depreciation
If you want a car at prompt...you're likely 30k GBP above list
With waiting times on a car to order of ~18 months...supporting the prompt.

There are a few 959s on the market for over a million right now. 959s sell low in the 500s and 600s. F40s sell low in the 500s and high in the 800s so that is just not true... There is no argument in which is better, but the amount of F40s has caused this.

Porsche 961 confirmed...
![](http://static.autoexpress.co.uk/sites/autoexpressuk/files/porsche-961.jpg)
"Porsche CEO Matthias Muller has finally confirmed that the company is working on a rival for the Ferrari 458 Italia..."
"Power is likely to come from the 4.6-litre V8 engine used in the 918 Spyder. Expect around 570bhp and a 0-62mph time of just over three seconds – figures to match those of the 458 Italia and McLaren 12C..."

Rival to 458 Italia.
570 hp, 0-60 3sec+
I can't think of a way to make these pieces fit together. It's a car two or more years away from market, making it a competitor to the replacements for the 458 and 12C. These cars are currently suggested to be slower than the 991 GT3. Presumably their successors will be slower than 991 RS. But the 460 or 461 or whatever numbers, isn't going to have the numbers to rival anyone, not even the RS at a much (much!) lower price point. Or will the 460 rival the 458 successor and be half its price?
We need a few more pieces of the puzzle.
ps. If I was waiting for this car and in my 50's, I'd say faak it and go spend far less money on a Carrera GT and be driving an apex of Porsche engineering today, not waiting for a VW version 1.0 some time two years from now.

But I see, you know your subjects quite well..

Still, on my opinion with the electronics..I remain firm (at least this has been a clear trend so far, the more raw and simple super car will the more appreciated one)..

959 so high now? I remember two years ago in Europe good ones could be had for 250K €. I agree, they increased a bit ..but a 959 being more expensive than an F40?..suprises me. Unless your talking about very special 959s..

If I wanna go backward, I'm building a 964 RSR close to what Singer is doing but I'm not looking back, it will be my last P car if it has what I would want as my last one. I didn't really liked the Carrera GT after I've tried it, not a friendly car to drive.

This is dated information. More recently I believe he or another Porsche executive stated they already have a Ferrari and 12C competitor the 991TT and TTS. The 961 mid-engine would not "fit" into the VW model line. They have the mid-engine R8 and Lambo.

thanks..but I think you can´t use these examples as "guide for worldwide 959 prices"..Canepa invested lots of money in this, to get them to the US. In the rest of world, if Im well informed, the F40 is clearly above 959 price level..
But anyway..we´ll keep in touch here..![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
Back on the 960: This car is my only hope for now..if its a 918 without hybrid stuff..then I might consider this one day...

All I can say about the CGT is: Get past 200~ miles and that unfriendly nature falls away. At least, it did for me. Nothing I have driven from Porsche, before or since, even comes close. Boxster Spyder has more accessible and better handling, RS 4.0 is close on total thrills, but the CGT stands alone for its noises, responses, and sense of occasion. Trouble is, any smart driver won't access that part of its character until they've driven one for hundreds of miles, maybe less for some and more for others, but it is not a car you simply "get in and drive." Nor are its upper limits to be trifled with. But...its reward for being driven well is flat-out amazing.
