Oh, come on.

Respect is earned. He had mine until he (a) did an 11th hour conversion towards what he until recently referred to as "granny paddles"; (b) openly derided those who prefer a MT as "dinosaurs".

This is no joke, even dealers know people want a manual transmission, which make the clean examples of GT3/RS to sell at a premium.
It's been a very long time since I've seen prices going up not down on a car after the new model has been introduced!
Don't trust me,check the market!
There are many factors that affect market prices. The transmission choice in the new GT3 is only one signal. Some people will find PDK to be more desirable than manual, and that will depress the value of the current cars. My best guess is we are into the track season, the weather is warming up and the market knows there won't be any new supply of GT3s until November.

neanicu, the issue I was addressing related to comments about how every thread in this forum goes off the rails "into oblivion", as Macca so succinctly put it, and degenerates into a "this sucks, no it doesn't" exchange.

As to your point, I get that there is unhappiness about the MT issue. Given the fact that it's been repeated a few hundreds of times, I'd have to be pretty dense not to. I'm not that surprised that prices have temporarily increased on 997 GT cars. It's not the first, nor will it be the last time that a limited commodity spikes on uncertainty. Whether the effect is lasting or not, time will tell. Are you also suggesting that rising prices on the 997 cars means that sales of the 991 GT3 won't meet expectations? If so, that's going to be proven wrong. Just a hunch.

(Edit: and zanwar makes some good points above...)

Best,

Best,
I agree with Zanwar, there are other factors involved when it comes to price... But I strongly believe that the GT3 is/should be more than just about going fast,in which case PDK is the obvious winner, the current GT3 is also fun...and IMHO(please don't jump on me),manual is more fun. Nobody buys a GT3 for its practicality.
And to answer your question,I'm sure 991 GT3 sales won't be affected,as a matter of fact I think they'll go up since the new car is now targeting more buyers.

We just have to wait it out....
oh, dont mind me.

I get it....I get it....I get it....god help me, for the hundreth time, I get it!

And for the hundreth time, you won't know relatively how much fun/practical/rewarding the 991 GT3 is until you drive it!

And I would never jump on anyone, least of all you, for saying they think a MT is "more fun". a) I've been there and b) it's completely subjective! By contrast, I've seen plenty of snarky comments posted about people who have come to appreciate PDK, either in practice or as a concept.
