Let's see what WOB's next move is. I will say NEVER TRUST a bat seller. I've had major issues with 911R's auctions before. Flew all the way to Wisconsin just to find out in person. Thank God I took a cashiers check with me and didn't wire the funds.

Can't hide in a CXX Mexico Blue 991.2 Touring. The car will be forever easily spottable. Let's see what happens to the auction., WP0AC2A90JS176153 stay tuned.

Incident or not we know $200K doesn't get it so if I would be looking into this car, I would be organizing a thorough PPI already and sending a guy over to take a microscopic look before committing to a quarter mill plus payment. It is just (or should be) common sense due diligence on the buyer's part. This aside from seller willful disclosures.

Ah ok, WOB should definately have known that then. Still an amazing car, 20 years from now a lot of tourings are hoping to have just minor incidences like this one.

I don't like how sellers get a stellar reputation and live off said reputation on BAT. For him to brush off the 2021 incident as a minor scratch is PURE SALESMAN SHIP, trying to make an easier buck. Sad.

I have a feeling this thread 10 years down the road is going to be very helpful when people are trying to buy the OG Touring.

Playing it off as a scratch isn't cool - but likely was what the seller told him the carfax was all about.
Poor diligence by Wob.
I agree, he doesn't ruin his reputation and kicks it back to the seller to deal with. Selling cars on BAT is big business for companies like his.

This is why I never put a car on BAT. If he does withdrawal the auction isn't it still on BAT forever? This car is now BAT famous for many reasons, one of which is an undisclosed accident. The other is because it's Mexico with CXX interior options.

Nobody's going to care about any of this stuff 10-20 years from now. This stuff only matters at resale if you're trying to make a buck. At CnC, Concourse or just plain driving on the street, nobody's checking VINs on Car Fax before they give you the thumbs up , or down for that matter. Now the seller not disclosing or alleging not to know, is a whole notha thang...!

big pet peeve of mine is offering high priced cars with old tires. It just rubs me the wrong way, pun intended. Spend $2500 on a new set and it'll make a world of difference. Anyone that knows 911s knows the factory recommended time for tires. No way 6 year old plus tires should be on that Mex Blue car. Period!

He can claim the consigner misrepresented and move on. Nobody will remember or care and there will always be someone out there that does not due their due diligence and buys it out of pure emotion. It is a beautiful example.

Headlight washers have been painted as well, although that has become a common mod as well.

But buying tires is like pulling teeth! haha. Are the tires original? That is short sighted indeed. Original tires would not make for a good driving experience either with the noise and lack of handling. I have 3 1/2 year old michelins on one of my BMW's with 9k miles and it's a burnout machine. No traction left.

I'm 95% confident headlight washers painted body color is standard on Touring w/ Black Trim for PTS cars....I'm actually confused why yours aren't painted body color.

It's more on the 5% side. I have been tracking this as well even before I bought the car. All silver or black, regardless of trim, unless optioned. Most cars this is an aftermarket painted cap. On the BAT car which is originally a silver trim touring option converted to black, the washers were chrome, then painted one can presume as part of the bumper repair work.

I always get a good crack at 911r's auctions with his driving video attaching mic as close to exhaust tip as possible, a lot of times it makes the car sounds worse & not really useful to potential buyer to get a feel what the car ACTUALLY sounds like in cabin. That tells you what kind of seller he is. Not to mention those trying so hard artsy pics, it does help driving up the price tho.

^^^ thx for clarification. I'm second owner on my car, and nozzles match body color. Pictures from delivery day though show body color nozzles before PPF. I do have $5-6k of CXX. Will need to dig up the original build sheet CXX list to verify.

Good catch on the Mexico Blue car....pictures from delivery here in Rennlist.
