Several restaurants I visited while traveling recently also no longer print menus (scan a QR code and order online from your table, server brings food) and were doing MAMMOTH takeout volume as well. No more manual order taking, no more making change, no more ‘manning’ the register.
yes, good point. I guess what I mean is the economic fundamentals haven't really changed overall in terms of things like natural rate of unemployment, productivity, GDP capacity Etc. Certainly societal dynamics have changed and I don't think everything will be back to how it was prior to the pandemic. Some of it will just be an acceleration of what was probably inevitable anyway, I E hybrid work-from-home situations and cashless transactions, whereas other things are definitely going to have permanently changed directly as a result, such as Healthcare.

You can't drive them, but you will have the exciting luxury of washing and polishing them every six months whether they need it or not.

That's why wildcatting is going to be the new NFT.

I doubt this will even move the needle in any measurable way.

Confused - wasn't the 991.2 GT3 also a 6 speed? This has virtually the same engine with ITBs and a GPF

yes, the 991.2 GT3 was offered with a manual new in CA. The 992 car must be louder, and somehow this testing procedure must generate a sound level that exceeds the CA legal limit. In a nutshell, this is a sound limit issue, not an emissions issue, from what I am gathering. The CA commies are notorious for being idiotic, so this is just another example. It also sounds more like a formality to get this "new" testing procedure approved by the CHP, so it'll happen eventually but maybe not in time for the first batch of cars.

If they slap a 49 state emissions label on this first batch of manuals, it'll make it difficult to register these as "new" cars in CA. At that point, the car is only able to be registered in CA if it's got more than 7,500 miles, or there are other exemptions, for military and people moving to CA from out of state, among others. Sounds like a real cluster**** but such is life in the clown world.

why would that be? these cars have been available all along with a manual to the entire country? Some of you are really grasping at straws here. Or do you think that the guy looking for the latest and greatest 992 GT3 is going to throw in the towel and rush to blow his whole load on a 3-4yr old GT3 instead? mAnUaL, bRo!!!

I saw a used car market analysis a couple days ago that said used car prices in America have gone up on average almost twenty percent the last two years. Obviously the GT3 is north of that. In my eyes the prime mover is the crazy high stock market which has a lot of people with fat portfolios and lots of disposable income. I have seen the same thing happen the last several decades a few different times. Then throw in the supply side issues due to covid supply chain impacts and, well, here we are. My 2 cents anywho.

checked autotrader and prices are all over the place. seems like most of the well spec'd manual winged cars are asking 200-220k. how many are actually getting the ask is TBD.
