The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

Having driven both, there is something different about the Touring. I look at it on paper and I get what you're saying, I do. But, I'm telling you, this car is summed up by more than what's on the stat sheet, there's something else there. It's the reason people want this car. I certainly will not give mine up so value doesn't really matter.

It's called an opinion for a reason - did you actually read what I wrote - I said I couldn't explain it. You should probably rail against all the journalists that said it was "different and better" as well. You know, in the comments section below their article, there's a bunch of them out there.

If I had a touring I would take advantage of the current feeding frenzy and sell, buy the same car with a spoiler, and heck at this rate pocket like 75K! Lol.

I think his point was that people are not paying more money for a touring because it drives any differently. They are paying more for looks and perceived rarity. My point earlier is it’s actually not rare (1 in 3 US GT3s).

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that you made the $0 checkbox that best suited what you wanted from your driving experience and even more so that some people are able to cash in on the hysteria, trust me, I love it. I think it's marvelous that somebody could sell a dull color, sofa'd touring for $50k over MSRP on BaT.
But there's a weird misconception on here that it is some special, one-off creation from Porsche is pure nuts.
Just call it what it is, a GT3 without a wing that's in crazy demand. At least the 991R had some fundamental differences outside of the lack of aero/attention.

Black Touring with 2k miles. Steel brakes, sofas, FAL, LED’s, and leather with red stitching. Asking price is $240k. That is probably $70k-$75k over the original MSRP. Madness!

haha, you do get the joke, right? When people are convinced there's some deep emotional difference in a wingless GT3... and yes, it's only a GT3 that's missing a wing... eventually some people are going to find the ridiculousness in the hyperbole.

Do not get me wrong. I think the Touring is a great option for those who do not want the attention a Wing brings. I think the take on the 992 GT3 will be more for the Touring.
I happen to prefer the Winged version, myself, but think the RS is way too racer-like and think the Wing looks stupid.
Different strokes for different folks

This Touring thing is interesting. The GT3 started out as the street / track version of the 911. it was optimized much more so for the track and performance vs comfort and blending in. The 911 diverged into the regular Carrera and the GT3 + RS. The wing was and is functional for its intended purpose of better performance. Then the 991R happened. And actually before that the 991.1 GT3 without manual happened and the outcry of a 911 GT3 with no manual and the desire for a similar GT3 to the R led to the Touring. Its a 991 GT3 with Touring option. Its not some different model. For me, I like the Touring but I sort of don't understand it. For me - If I want a Gt3, I get a wing. If I want to blend in - I get a Carrera. What's next a GT3 Touring Cabriolet - why stop at wing delete - oh wait that's a Speedster at $300K . But I understand the desire for the Touring and that's cool. I think there's a little frenzy going on here. A little Gamestop thrown in to the mix - but hey its all good. There are only a few hundred Tourings and probably a couple thousand people that want one - hence the frenzy. Everyone has different tastes and that's OK too.
