Autotrader / Car Gurus has been absolutely flooded with GT3 / RS listings, especially for tourings. But several people on this forum seem to think we're in a new paradigm of perpetually high prices - that's actually the sign of a peak.

the 122 mile chalk gt3 auction on BaT is closing in 6 hours.
looks it hasn't moved from 185k in the last few days. Last few hours will be telling of the market demand right now.

It's not about the peak of the GT3 market, rather imo it's printing money, consequent inflation, and the fear of a paradigm shift in the access to cars like the GT3 and similar becoming scarce.

I agree monetary policy is too loose and inflation is running too hot (and definitely not as transient as the Fed would have us believe) - but in terms of a paradigm shift..... the fundamental amount of (used) sportscars out there hasn't decreased since 2019. If prices had been steadily going up prior to COVID due to perceived scarcity of ICE sportscars going forward, I'd say that paradigm shift is a good reason for the demand. But they were doing the opposite; prices were falling quite rapidly across the board. It's just the amount of money splashing around the system now which has driven prices up and then FOMO always follows like in every bubble. Not to mention there's a real arbitrage opportunity for people to sell their GT3s now; even if you're paying a $50k ADM for a new GT3, you could largely cover that by selling your old one. And then there are substitutes; Lamborghini still doesn't charge ADMs for RWD EVOs and they can't even keep them in the showroom, they're flying out. Based on recent auction results and our own classifieds here, it looks like prices for GT3s are already off their peak - there's like 150 991.2 GT3s excl RS for sale on autotrader right now and some priced below 200k have been sitting for weeks....
