Inflation seems to be everywhere, everything is up AND sold out. I know the Fed puts electronics in their "market basket of goods" in a measure of inflation, that has to be what keeps the measure down because everywhere I look, things are a lot more expensive....and we just passed another 1.9T aid package.

Here is the craziest asking price I have seen yet. Original MSRP is $166,950.00.

Once
1. everyone has the vaccine and is no longer bored sitting at home
2. all the manufacturers have caught up/ramped up production and in general more cars are available
3. the 992 GT3s start getting delivered
I would guess prices should be much lower this fall for the .2 cars. (This excludes the Touring cars. I still dont get why a wing delete fetches a $30k premium.)

I'm no expert at these things but it seems like this is the worst time to buy.

Easy solution to that problem. Drive the car. Quick reminder of why people will pay crazy money for them. They are great. One of my all time favorites.

How is everyone feeling about the upcoming 992 announcement on Feb 16? How soon after do we think 991 prices will generally start coming down a bit?

It is interesting to see the market ebb and flow. I remember negotiating on a '07 turbo in '09 and thought I got a great deal. Who could have predicted that car would be worth today exactly what I paid then. I also remember almost trading it in at Porsche North Houston in 2011 for a 2010 3k mile grey/black GT3RS. They offered it to me at 129K. I'm sure there are plenty on here who have similar experiences over the year. Regrettably I didn't buy the RS, and that memory has stuck with me. I don't necessarily dwell on it per se, but it is hard not to think about what if when that car today with 20K miles is selling for 160-180K. So who knows what will happen. I do think the sought after and beloved (non numbered) cars in any 911 generation tend to hold strong. It is reasonable to assume the same outcome for the touring.
