This car was excruciatingly hammered from the peanut gallery, not sure exactly why but I'm guessing could have been even higher.

I think it's a shame all the attempts to sow doubt into the bidders by a couple of people who both acted like the seller had run over their dog. Questions were asked, and seller I thought was as transparent as they could be. Sometimes "I'm not sure. I've done some additional research, and this is the best I can come up with." is a legit answer.
I don't have a dog in the fight, but it seemed inevitable that dealers who are super knowledgeable would be the best bids after that sh!tshow. Any enthusiast who was interested in the car that wasn't an expert ran for the hills, and that's the real shame IMO.

No dog in the fight, reality is when they hit the streets it’s human nature. GT3RS 2019 we’re 100k over, and 2RS we’re 150k, Speedsters we’re 200k, it always normalizes. If you love the car keep it, I can sell my PTS Speedster for 410k I said no because I want the car. I like the 991 GT3T over the 992, but human behavior always wins get the new toy.

Wonder if it's a tactic by a buyer to have friends FUD so the price may stay down.???
So I go to buy a well-specced car this week, let’s say your typical $200k, winged PDK car, Good miles and warranty.
In “normal times” is that a $175k car? I just want to reconcile in my brain how much a premium I am paying for being impatient and what extra I stand to lose when I trade in in 2 years on a 992.
I been shopping and gave up to wait. In Feb/March 8k miles fully loaded Chalk was selling for 160k. PDK. 15k mile car I missed on sold for 152k. I was working on a deal in March with a private seller for similar car at 155k. White. PDK well specced. Rewind to December 2020. Those same cars were in the 140k-150k range. You could get a manual in that range too private party.
You can extrapolate forward. Being a computer guy, I wrote some software that modeled the pricing and was going based on that. However prices weren’t stable as it was right when the market started shifting just a few months ago. Hence missing out on some cars. Who knows what happens next. Things are wild. Best of luck. If you can afford it, I’d say time enjoying it is really valuable. For me, this would be my single dream car not another car in the stable. So got to play the cards right.
Same here. I’ve been looking for a GT3, but have decided to wait and see if the market returns to some sense of normal. I just can’t wrap my head around current prices. I’ve been tempted to just pay the premium, but I keep concluding that the car in question isn’t worth the price to me.
According to my 75 yr old mother whom i took for a nice ride in my Touring last weekend, "this car is amazing and is sooo loud!"
Its certainly louder then any of my prior P cars. Its also the most amazing one out there!

I mean, it is clear that the car was different to what the option sheet stated. Those were legit questions about the history of the car, especially at this price point.
