I already sent you excellent contact info for Porsche Orland Park (run by Joe Rizza's son, Tony). They told me Tuesday they would PPI the car for you.

Also, earlier in this thread, I gave you the contact info for Mark Hill, owner of Cars Plus, in Darien. He is very close to CMC in West Chicago.

Not meant to hijack thread but with all the chicagolanders here- who (indy) would u recommend to install the emotion engineering suspension kit (on 991.2 GT3)? Fischer Motorsports? Midwest Eurosport? Perfect Power? Jiffy Lube?

thanks-

Sorry LexVan, you are right I missed it.

I did manage to schedule the PPI, but then I found out the car didnt have the spare key and in the moment I decided to put everything on hold. Not sure if its a big deal. I found out that its $800 ($400 for key, $150 for programming, $150 for color matching sides) but its not money that I am concerned with.

If there is one thing I have seen in RL that people frequently ask/confirm is if the car has the spare key. I dont know why that it is. Anyways, right now I need to think this through and not rush. I even paid for the PPI and put the loan paperwork in motion but had to reverse everything.

Not having a second key is pretty common. People are going to have it at home, take it into the dealer, say they will bring it in but never do. They can deactivate the old ones so no one would be able to drive it. Not an issue.

Oh you see, I never thought about that (that someone can break into the car with the other key). To disable the key, do I need to essentially get 2 new keys and toss this one out? Can that spare key that is lost be disabled?

I'm sorry I don't know what that's supposed to mean and accomplish. Do you think I am doing this for entertainment? I had them charge me $600 for PPI and get my loan process started only to "chase" stuff? No need to contribute to this thread unless you have nothing constructive.

CMC contacted me many years ago when I was selling my Murcielago. The deal didn't work out. I don't remember specifics but I do remember that I wasn't interested in his deal.

People have a lot of spare time to bust your *****. Been following along. I see you have a lot of questions and are trying to make a smart decision with the input of very knowledgeable people here. It always surprises me the few out there that like to imply that you are just wasting their time because you are valuing and interpreting the input of more than one person...Because all the FO time we are spending reading a forum on things that interest us is so priceless.... Be nice people and cut the guy some slack. You all have very constructive and valuable positive knowledge to bring to the table.

I've seen a lot of single key sets on cars being sold that were once Lease cars - the leasing company likes to hang on to a set of keys during the lease and at the end - Sales time they don't all seem to arrive together

Just go to the dealer with all of the keys you have. They will remove the other keys except the ones that you bring in or have them code to the car.

Interesting - didn't know about that but makes sense.
