Any experience with Chicago Motor Cars?

Update : Jimmy stopped by at CMC a few minutes ago and found the car in good condition. I'm going to go ahead and schedule the PPI as the next step. He pointed out something that is worth noting that the titanium exhaust did not even change color which indicates car wasn't really driven that hard. I am really appreciative of his help and grateful

Update- Car looks great if you like LG.
Tires are pretty much brand new still.
Plastic black front spoiler underneath maybe had a slight rub but who's car does not. Nothing to bat an eye on.
They more than welcome and urge to have the PPI done. They very confident all will be a green light. They were very courteous and we spent some time looking at a bunch of their other cars and some of them were already sold
I truly believe this car is legit
Funny though- I had them let me start it but they first wanted to open up some doors. Like clock work- the engine smoked like all the 991.1 ones' do. I forgot that smell but verified it was the typical Porsche smell
Good luck with the car- I think you will be happy. I would still get PPi done by the Dealer that LexVan has a relationship with. He is a big Contributor here so I would trust his advice.

Jimmy-D, man you did 3-Pedals and the rennlist community a solid...just awesome.
3-Pedals- as mentioned above, the CPO absolutely does not carry over. Has to be a private party sale or through a Porsche dealership; I don't believe it even carries over if a CPO car is traded in to a Porsche dealership- my understanding is it has to pass inspection and be "recertified" by Porsche. CMC should know this-

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he won't pull the trigger on this deal... for whatever reason. Some people just love the chase.

3-Pedals, if you buy it, who is going to do the shipping? FYI, we have some good shipping contacts on Rennlist like Jim from InterCity. If you need a place to keep it, prior to shipping, you are welcome to store in my garage until arrangements are made.

thank you. As part of the deal, there is a trade involved and the CMC salesguy wants the truck bringing RS to pickup the trade. He is also covering shipping both ways which makes his deal attractive.
What is interesting is a local porsche dealer decided to lower his price multiple times almost matching this car (they used to be $10,000 apart). Now I need to decide whether $1000-2000 is worth doing this vs local (but local car has twice the miles 1900 vs 3600). I m hoping to make a decision today.

If I were him- I would drive the 11 hours back to NJ during the late night with my radar detector. Be like his own Cannonball run . If he does that i may think about joining him and spend a week seeing some friends and family who have been holed up in their homes. I bet we can make it there in record time

A person I was talking to (outside of this forum) who has seen the carfax of this car pointed out that car was auctioned after being leased which is something that is done when a car is either bought back or taken in as part of “trade assist”. Thats one thing I dont know if there is anyway at all to make sure there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it (that PPI wont pick up but driving it 30-40 miles will).
