Best 991 variant...
“To summarize what I've been saying since 2017, and enthusiastically restating every single time I'm lucky enough to wheel a 991.2 manual GT3, it's basically the best car ever made. It has an intoxicating engine that rip-snorts to 9,000 rpm without the need of forced induction, 500 Porsche horsepower—meaning it's able to beat up on cars making much, much more power—and steering on loan from the gods. Everything about this 911 is glorious. Even and especially that big wing.”

I love mine too! I think it will be a future special car, just like 997 gt3rs is. I know a lot love the PDK but Its no for me. at some point, all manuals will be gone Guess I will have to buy the last one, when that happens, and bubble wrap it for future. No 992 in my future, will keep this one and maybe wait to see whats next after the 992.

maybe the most bizarre and senseless ranking of 991s I’ve ever seen.

The wing for the win, the only way to fly.

yep about as relevant as a music critic trying to review a Mozart concerto through the base sound system in a RS as it hits 9000RPM
Suffice to say he really likes the 991 line up I would happily disagree him as to the placement, which is largely irrelevant and simply reflects one mans bias.
There are far more important things to dwell on than cars........

Tongue in cheek. For all the wing v. no wing RL banter, they are so much the same car, the 10 rank for the circumcised version is funny.
“10. 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring
Needs more wing. Other than that, the Touring is mechanically identical to a 991 that's much higher up on this list. Sure, leaving it this low on the list is a bit tongue in cheek, but as I always say, "Who wants a circumcised Porsche?"“

Yesterday I was blasting around in my .2 Manual and I was even thinking to Myself -"It can not get better than this SOB". It is just so visceral and the Engine comes for heaven. Plus- the Wing is so beautifully integrated with the engine cover.
I agree with the article and really could care less if I never drive any of the others' mentioned in the article

Wow, just yesterday I was thinking I needed to keep my 991.2 manual because it was worth so little. Now, I think I need to keep it because it will be so valuable. Thanks Motor Trend!

What? The 911R is not the best 911 ever??? Clearly this journalist has a problem. Well he did have a love affair with a Cadillac wagon for a really long time so there's that...

You lost me at Motor Trend! How that is even still a thing is beyond me. It has been the worst car magazine since I started reading car magazines in the mid 70's!

At this point in time, all print car magazines are almost dead with the exception of a few British publications and even those are starting to shrink now too. Motor Trend used to be a rag I admit, but overtime they have become a more respectable source of journalistic talent and have had the best in the industry on staff as they have pivoted to a mostly on line news organization. Unfortunately though, the internet quality in journalism is decreasing while quantity is increasing and this is true too with Motor Trend. However, while I take a shot a Johnny for fun, he is one of the best out there.

I already searched and could find any post about adding a wing to my Touring. I ordered this one online (great price!) but I am not sure how to disable the motor on the factory spoiler.🤣
