The term "no-lift shift" has been used to describe not letting up on the throttle when manually shifting the .2 GT3.
How is this different from power shifting? Is there any electronic intervention to limit the RPMs when the ECU detects a "no-lift shift"?

Yes the ECU limits the revs

For example, if you try to rev match a downshift while the lever is still in the higher gear or just nearing neutral (not yet into the gate of the lower gear) the car rev limits as it thinks you're trying to no-lift upshift. It's extremely annoying how it chokes the revving off.
Even if you're in gear, you put the clutch in and try to rev, it holds revs steady and doesn't rev freely.
I made a thread about it with videos.

Very very annoying that it can't be disabled. I honestly have no interest in no-lift shifting. It's fast and works fine but develops very bad habits and is just unnecessary. Certainly when it hampers heel-toe downshifting fun.

It matches the revs for a totally seamless upshift.

If you're travelling at say 50 mph in 3rd gear, you push the clutch in and try to rev. Does yours rev freely or does it rev limit?

I never have occasion to just rev with the clutch in when in 3rd gear at 50mph, unless I'm in the process of downshifting into 2nd (works great)

No lift shift. Works great. I love it. No problem with heel/toe downshift.
Every time I do some coaching and the coach is not used to it, the difference on speed curve is quite interesting.

I have noticed that sometimes, when using "sport" mode, that If I forget about the computer and try to manually rev-match a downshift it confuses the entire system and I end up with a jerky downshift. Also, JWW is right, that occasional no-lift shift lets out an awesome, angry sound that's hard for me to otherwise describe.

Love the NLS. It's faster, smoother, and makes awesome sound. Zero issues or interplay with heel/toe downshifts or if you choose to push the auto-blip button.
Not sure why folks are manually reving between an upshift. What's the purpose of that?
