Looks like Porsche has already superseded some part numbers belonging to this part of the engine...so hopefully the issue has been resolved. If not this might just be a service item down the line once the warranty runs out.

Any body have a 2019 vehicle in this thread...I wonder if just isolated to 2018 model year?
Can you post the new part numbers? Mine was done 3 year ago and now I see a drop of oil there.

Guess I'm late to the party, but my car just developed this issue today at 7,500 miles. Thankfully, I have service scheduled for next week.

(Venting.)

Dropped my car off 4/25 and still don't have it back due to parts/dealer delays. In my case, the leak was significant (streak of oil down my driveway) but the same area (crank) was implicated.

My car is literally 4 months out of warranty, so I'm going to be out $5K for the privledge of hoping the repair works. Asked to talk to PCNA, as this is really questionable with such low miles and no abuse. (If anyone has experience attempting that route, I'd love any advice.)

Dropped my car off on 5/13 to get oil pipe fixed. Advisor just told me that vacuum line got damaged during install of new oil pipe, now estimating 2 weeks to ship part from Germany. WTF.

This is what needed to be replaced on my vehicle the second time around.... 9A1.107.167.93

Apparently first time around they just replaced all the orings associate with this pipe/system.

Useful thread! Am I understanding right that even for the cars where the issue was addressed it reoccurs again? Or are there updated parts that should address this issue more permanently?

Also, does it require engine out service or can be done without removing the engine?

Based on this thread, it looks like the issue is very common. I’m wondering if Porsche should do the replacement even if the car is out of warranty.

It seems the updated part (ending in 93) is the fix. My dealer disconnected and moved the engine slightly but didn't remove it outright. I wouldn't have thought this would be necessary but apparently, it was.

From what I’ve seen, many 991.2 cars will begin to leak again after fitting the newer part.

Not sure I’d bother, unless the leak is pretty bad.

Not sure what was changed with 992, but seems to have cured it.

New part looks completely different from the old one. Where did you see reports of the new part failing?

I'm not sure I'd be okay with oil leaking right above the exhaust.

I've seen it both on cars "fixed" under warranty with retrofitting the new part and I've seen some leaks there on 2019's that had the new part originally from factory. We are talking about the same part (the oil feed to the crankshaft)?
It doesn't leak onto the exhaust. It drips off the bottom of the crank pulley and belt onto the tray/diffuser below. It was a pretty slow leak (occasional drips - not a flow).

My turn. 2018 991.2, 2017 build. 5000 miles. Just got the car back from its 4-year service.

Noticed some oil spots on the floor. Stuck a camera on top of the diffuser and... oh boy. Not a small amount of oil.

is it possible that the work done in the 4-year service caused this?
