I didnt see a topic on here of Rennlist vs. Fchat? Are you interpreting the topic of GT3 vs. 458 as a Rennlist vs. Fchat? Or did I miss some posts?

I think the fchat topic only came up when someone was questioning if the OP herein was the same Benny as the the Benny on fchat.....

I think you get jacklegs on every forum. but, by and large, I find Rennlist the most helpful. Just have to sort through some bs every now and then, like everything else in life

fchat vs rennlist came up previously. Agree with you jackwagons on every forum. Not to discount the many knowledgeable and helpful people here but I also have run into more jackwagons here.

That seems like an odd way to judge what is intrinsically an emotional decision.

Is a Patek a 1000x times better than a Grand Seiko? Who knows but the person who buys a Patek minute repeater does not ask the question if the watch she is buying is X times better than another brand.
Good point....I just was interested in whether owners of both cars thought the F car was significantly better from a driver's perpective. Turns out the price delta as noted above isn't as great as I previously thought.

Prefer the 488 engine note over the GT3 note. So many tones, textures, growls and burbles (vaccum hoses plugged) from the 488. Aurally, way more dynamic. Deeper tone. Good note at low RPM and low speed, and always ready to escalate.

Handling, still feeling out the 488, but it seems sharper and exhibits far less body roll. Flatter and more precise. Quick, light steering.

Acceleration and torque - at any RPM - 488 kills. Scary fast. Regular moments of weightlessness.

Much prefer the 488 looks, but it gets too much attention, even being silver (like my GT3). Most curious people respect the 488 and keep distance, but park the 488 anywhere there is even light to moderate foot traffic and it may very well get touched by males of any age. I say this from experience. Drive fast and tailgaters with something to prove will regularly appear. Drive speed limit or slowly, same result. GT3 not immune to any of this either, though.
Can we get back to the “regular moments of weightlessness” for a minute? lol

Surely. What I meant by that was that the car gets RPMs and accelerates so quickly that it feels frictionless and unimpeded. Think Maglev. Others have said the same. My 488 is faster than what my imagination was capable of. Used to say the same about my 911 Turbo (8 years ago). My 488 feels so much faster. And to think that there are faster road cars out there. Boggles my mind.

That is awesome. Sounds like a blast. Well, until I’d lose my license. But right up to that point totally awesome. lol

Ferrari have made a turbo with virtually no lag. Straight out of the gate, first gen design.

Porsche have had decades in turbo development and there is still lag

I am looking into getting a 488 gtb. I heard just good things except that it doesn't pull right to 8k redline but stops pulling at 7k. Can some owners comment on this?

My 488 pulls to redline. On the street you are really moving if you are doing that. Is it twice as good as my GT3, no. Who cares? When the garage door goes up it's where your eyes go first. This is a 911GT forum and people like to bash fiats. To each their own.

The 488 is a more balanced car to drive quickly, plus the torque and acceleration coming out of corners is brutal. I have a manual .2 GT3 and would only pick that for fun track driving. On the roads, the 488 simply because the acceleration + torque + mid engine balance just makes it more fun to drive. If I were to compare it against a PDK GT3, it’s no comparison, I choose the 488 every Occassion, it is that good. The short gearing means you are constantly shifting from 1 to 5 gears, but the acceleration is so intense, it’s mentally challenging trying to keep up with the shifts manually, this makes it one hell of a fun paddle shift car to drive in manual mode. Is it worth the extra $$, oh yeah, it’s another level. I am far quicker in it than my GT3 even on standard tyres.

imho the sound is good too, although there seemed to be a slight drone around 4K rpm same can be said about the GT3. Once u get going the in cabin sound is almost as good as the GT3, just without the shriek of the GT3 7-9k rpm, but the torque and brutal acceleration makes up for it because u be too busy trying to keep up shifting ...

I am convinced. Is there a factory sport exhaust for it?

And 288 GTO.

I think the broader point is still valid, though.
