Side muffler deletes are what we do on every GT3 we have come through here. Not only is the sound improvement excellent (albeit subjective), it is quite the underrated upgrade for track use as it drops a noticeable 35lbs off the back of the car and reduces the heat by the engine and rear tires by a nice bit too.

The Fabspeed guys were great! I am very happy with the product, and will probably put the headers and some kind of rear muffler in the future.

I will try and make a video, I have no skills in this department and the only thing i have is an iPhone to record it, so will update soon

Does this drone quite a bit compared to stock or center delete?

I would love to get the fabspeed side deletes but the company has an abysmal reputation as it seems which is putting me off.

I have had great customer service, they respond to my emails. get directly to them if i call and they follow up after the sale, I don't know what else anyone would want. They have a solid reputation for making quality products. I am, by no means, the expert in all things exhaust, but I have had all expectations made. I do not know of any company that is perfect, so as long as they care, follow up, ask how they can be better and work on building quality with care, I think thats the most important thing. If you want them, get them!

Versus a completely stock exhaust, sure you'll have a bit more sound presence in the cabin. However, I don't believe I have ever had someone complain about drone with a set of valved side muffler bypass pipes on their 991 GT3 and I have sold a lot of them. Sound is Very subjective, but I would say you should have no qualms about getting a set of valved side muffler deletes, which retains the PSE function and allows you to route the exhaust through the top of the center muffler to reduce cabin presence. Give me a ring any time at 484 883 6197 and we can chat a little bit more in depth about the different exhaust options so you can make an educated decision

That's mostly from one guy waging war on them over the past few years. Quite unfortunate, I would have given the fellow what he wanted but it was quite outrageous. For your reference, I was their Porsche specialist for several years and I can say with confidence their stuff is pretty darn good. Just this season I've put on close to a dozen sets of their side muffler bypass pipes on 991.1 and 991.2 GT3s. No hiccups with installation, and every one of those cars got beat the snot out of on Sebring over thousands of track miles and had no issues whatsoever. If you want them, I'd be happy to set you up with a pair and you can simply work with me directly. Please feel free to give me a call at 484 883 6197 and I'd be happy to provide any transparent/unbiased feedback to any questions you have on their reputation, quality, product design, etc as well as a comparison to any other options/brand on the market.

I don't know about the .2 cabin yet, but the 991.1 gt3 and RS were not very drone-prone compared to the 997 platform, especially the 997.1 gt3 and RS seemed to be prone to drone.

I have the SW with the valves pinned open and love the sound. Not too loud that the wife complains, and zero drone. Sounds angry as hell when on it. I could easily drive this car across the country. Getting rid of the side mufflers, combined with the LW battery sounds like a great way to take 70 or so pounds off the car and balance the weight loss between front and back. But...

My biggest concern would be noise. Significantly louder than the SW would be an issue. I assume losing the side “mufflers” means big noise increases regardless of solutions available. Can’t go much louder than this. Also, occasional track use and sound limits.

My friend has the Cargraphics side delete on his 1.1 GT3, and it’s not significantly louder (if at all) than my car with center bypass. It does sound different though.

If I were to do it all over again I think I would do a side delete (with functioning valves).

Well said. Although not a crazy difference, there is a notable difference between cabin presence on any exhaust upgrades between the 997 and 991 generation

If you care at all about the cabin presence in the car, I wouldn't recommend combining side and center muffler bypass pipes. That is essentially the same as running a competition exhaust system pictured below, and you'll want to stay in the higher rpms with that system on the street. Great setup for track only guys that want to keep factory headers but ditch a lot of weight (about 55lbs).

Valved side deletes are the way to go if you don’t want headers. Less heat, less weight, no drone. Sound level is more but in a good way. You can couple the side deletes with a Dundon Lifetime Quiet muffler to keep the dB’s down or go for more sound with a Dundon’s Lifetime Loud Muffler.

Our valved side deletes are finishing in production in the next few weeks. We’ve been ramping production on mufflers and are finally starting to catch up. As soon as we have some on the shelf we’ll offer the valved side deletes and lifetime center muffler package. All 321 Stainless and guaranteed forever!

Any chance those side muffler bypass pipes will factory center mufflers the same as your lifetime center muffler?
