This is my understanding as well, which is fine. There are plenty of available 991GT on the market. As it stands now ~12.5% of 991’s will be “GT”.

They are worried more about over-supply than ADMs. Dealers could be holding back a few, but there will be no new ones awarded.
And what are all of those folks in the factories going to be building then or will they just sit around and do nothing? Face it, the GT cars are the best selling cars.

Did it ever occur to them that the reason there are cars showing up on the secondary market is because they actually don't make enough of the cars???

Now they get harder to obtain, so people begin to the view the cars as a commodity (ADM) instead of a car to be enjoyed, so those who get allocations and have no real plans to own the car still spec one rather than the allocation going to where it should (the enthusiast rotting away on the bottom of the list), then decide to try and flip said car = it's on the secondary market

They are worried about over-supply as there are still guys waiting on MSRP lists hoping for "the call" and dealers holding allocations for ADM only

Directed at PAG of course lol

If the were into making ROI.. they should just pump out a bunch of cup cars and caymans

Flood PCA club racing w them

Zero warranty
100 percent chance it will get body damage and need parts

And make some series that makes them manual transmission with no abs again..convince people it is hard core. That way they can wreck more often and zip more engines

Ever watch the low level IMSA cup car races, it's a joke how much damage the cars get

wow this is huge news. I haven’t ever heard of or seen a PTS 991.2 3RS build yet. What is the build date of these PTS 3RS allocations?

They will still be building them. Just no more “new” allocations. Plus, 1948 Speedsters will be allocated soon, not to mention the rumored GT4(RS) may use the 4.0 NA engine and pull supply away from the 3’s after Geneva.

Not that I want to defend PAG, but I think they are trying to make more cars. Look at how many .1 and .2 991 GT3’s and 3RS’s they’ve made compared to the 997 versions. They didn’t limit the 2RS as in previous generations, and it didn’t help. Making more will not fix the problem and would create an even bigger bubble. The allocation system is broken. That’s where they need to focus. The Taycan online registration system may be a window into the future as to how product gets allocated to those who are first in line and with real desire to own and drive. This will still bring flippers, but PAG will have direct knowledge of the people who registered and flipped and maybe not allow them to register immediately on the next round.
