If you decide to go for a 458 (which is my fav besides GT cars):
Check w/ your insurance co. for coverage and price...can be a shocker compared to GTs. Then make sure there is a competent shop to service in your area.
I tired of all this dealer and even manufacturer nonsense and went in the totally opposite direction. My 600+hp E63S Wagon will be here around the end of December. Pretty exclusive, I was able to spec and order my own car and I don’t really need anything to be honest. I hope to enjoy the car as my daily driver while scaring housewives and soccer moms.
Moral of the story, buy what makes you happy. Don’t wait for the Porsche gods to snap out of it anytime soon.
From your list of options, I probably will go with the R8 V10 Plus. It's one heck of a car with that amazing V10 shouting behind you.
I, too, cannot get a .2 GT3 allocation as dealers all set their rules for the games which I am tired of hearing and playing. I went on to order an AMG GTR that's arriving next spring/summer. Recently, when the R8 RWS was available for order, I also put my name and deposit down for one. It's a long shot for the R8 RWS as only 30 units will make it to Canada.
My plan now is to keep my .2 911 7MT and add AMG GTR & R8 V10 RWS, while I wait and hope the .2 GT4 allocation can be given to me w/ deposit I put down in summer 2016.
McLaren also has a great line up, really like the 570GT, that seems like a great choice for daily.
And probably not many people here will be interested, but I also want a LC500, just waiting for the discount to happen or even better if LC-F becomes real.
So why didn't a lot of people pick the 570S? That's a little odd now that I think about it.
I can only comment on my own case. I drive my cars. Fell in love with a Mac that had a perfect spec. But after much investigation it became clear they come with a lot of issues and are basically unreliable. I value driving relatively hassle free over looking good in a supercar.
I have a .2 coming but I can tell you hands down get the GTR!!! I’m absolutely blown away by this car! Incredible front end grip and steering feel! Sounds great, very little to non-existent turbo lag, and way better looking in person! Pictures simply do not do this car justice!
