For a NEW car and about the same money(as a nicely equipped .2GT3), the AMG GTR is about as good as it gets and closest in performance.

Great last line...

Given that, I'd look at:
  • Ferrari 550 Maranello 6MT
  • 996.2 GT3
  • 987.2 Boxster Spyder
  • 997.1 GT3 SW 3.9
  • 997.2 RS

I got myself a GT4. Hoping in 18 months, there will be 991.2 GT3s on the pre-owned market

I was wondering the same thing myself. They are beautiful, but I heard that they drive big because the front end is so long. Perhaps I need to take a test drive and see for myself.

Easy... 981 Spyder.

I’ve had a 991.1 GT3 and GT4, and the Spyder is the best of the 3 in terms of driving fun especially on road in the mountains.

Fortunately I have a 991.2 GT3 manual coming as well, but I doubt I’ll want to part with the Spyder.

See my my other posts on this topic.

i would do the mclaren, i recently took one on a long test drive and it was amazing. the car is just so fluid it can be relaxing when you want it to be and a beast when you want it to be...

i'm surprised the voting scored it so low.

The GT3 can't be all allocated. Isn't Porsche going to build them as many as they can.

Beam him up Scotty ...

Dealers waiting lists are three times allocations with 15K plus ADM.

Don't have to like it, but PDK is faster ... glad I ticked it, will tick it again.

I feel your pain. Nothing since the 997 GT3RS interested me from Porsche and then the 6MT GT3 was announced I needed to have one. Since you already have a Porsche, I would keep it and let the GT3 market come to you or just pay the $15-30k ADM. Over a Long ownership horizon it is negligible cost. With a $175k budget you can make it happen even with ADM. Everything else I am interested in is used. Another Exige, an Aero 8, a 612 MT.
