Eduardo,
No good deed goes unpunished, indeed.
The light you (and to a lesser extent, others) have shed on this byzantine process has (1) significantly increased demand for PTS and (2) has led some (prospective) customers to feel entitled to PTS.
Not your "fault," so to speak.

Kidding of course but there is certainly a lot more to this than I ever thought.

In Your Own Words...(set the shovel down & stop digging!)
I love PTS colors, but I do not love the process.
That's why I would like a major change to the
way Porsche does PTS. An obvious solution
would be to build more capacity if possible
at the plants to do it. If that is not possible
then raising the price and decreasing demand
makes some sense.

... Higher priced PTS may allow more staffing,
better organization and a streamlining of the
process to get folks their dream car in the
color they want in a timely manner...The
process needs to change and I think the
price going up is hopefully a sign that it is.
Lets all hope it is a change for the better as
far as organization, transparency, deadlines
and of course quality of paint.

the price increase for PTS will be used for at
Porsche! But will I be able to keep my doctor?
Arrogance? Not at all Eduardo...far from it.
Are you a commissioned salesman waiting
1 year and possibly up to 18 months to
receive your pay check on an order that
is simply painted a different color? I am...
The Panamera Turbo I just ordered in PTS
cost the client $9910...my profit on that
PTS option was $1486 which will put an
extra $267 in my pocket when the car
arrives. Is that worth waiting 1 year for?

much worse than that...a poor schmuck that
thinks one should expect & be able to get a
Porsche dealer to help HIM or HER get a
legitimate option (PTS) which is offered by
the manufacturer to its customers!
But you have convince me, Brett, that it doesn't
make sense for YOU to assist customers trying
to order PTS at your dealership. It's simply not
fair on YOU & it's not profitable enough for YOU.
Good thing you are not a Porsche 'Exclusive
Manufaktur Partner' because if you were, I
would be a little concerned in hearing this
kind of negative 'attitude' about custom orders...
Oh wait...You at Sonnen are indeed an
'Exclusive Manufaktur Partner'. Never
mind!

Finally, there is no known technical
reason why PAG can not make PTS
more accessible for their customers.
Dealers need to help us put pressure
on PAG to increase allocated PTS slots,
not simply control demand by raising
prices to higher levels! I am not even
sure PTS at $12,830 will decrease the
demand. And if that is not the purpose
of this PTS price increase, then we have
other serious questions to pose to Porsche
regarding this move!

Yes, if you guys think so, then it must be true!
All I know is that no truer proverb exists than:

IMO, the price increase is simply to limit the number of people doing PTS. At this point, so many people want to do it, that it's in danger of losing its allure/exlusivity. As a luxury good manufacturer, I'm sure Porsche understands this and wants to preserve exclusivity.

The price increase does not limit the number of people doing PTS, as that is limited by how many PTS production slots Porsche offers. Perhaps, the price increase will result in 3 requests for every slot vs 4, but that does not in any way impact how many end up produced. There is therefore no net change to exclusivity at all, but Porsche does secure for itself more of the PTS premium which is the whole point. It is about increased profit with the added benefit of having to tell fewer people no.
