LCs are terrific vehicles. I see so many other premium SUVs on the road, but I dont think they are close to the vehicle the LC is. The LC might not have as much style (subjective) or as much power as some of the alternatives, but they are tanks in a good way. If I had to drive one current SUV for the next 10+ years, the LC is the one I would trust.

The Land Cruiser the best made production vehicle on Earth all-time along the QRD fronts. A conservative lift with 33-35" tires makes it look properly fashionable for all occasions. The 911 is the Land Cruiser of the sports car world and vice versa.
I think the 300 series will be coming out within the next year or two. I wanted one of the old school dinosaurs before they went extinct. Also, there are some rumors that US will get Lexus only, which would be a shame.
I will put my 2016 four cylinder 5MT taco against a TLC for QRD, especially the RD, but I am guessing most GT car owners are less than keen on driving a two ton pick up with 159hp. The only thing that seems to kill them is frame rust so I’ve got $100 worth of Eastwood stuff to spray on and in once it gets warmer (not that I have any rust yet, but I’d like to keep it that way). I seriously am considering paying someone to take the frame off and galvanize it, but I am insane so there is that ....
I really want a TLC, but I can’t quite justify the cost of a new one and as everyone knows used ones hold their value. I jumped at the 3rd gen 4 cylinder 5MT in 2016 because the 3.5 V6 no one loved and I figured the 5MT was not long for this world. Sure enough, it made it to 2017 and they stopping making them (surprisingly enough the 2.7 liter 4 banger is still being made with the six speed auto in spite of the fact it is basically an early 90s design with port injection although I think it will be gone soon).
The other dinosaur floating around is the 4runner. The 4.0 V6 is very reliable and it has a bulletproof auto.

TLC have a depreciation schedule running approx 20% higher than German makes. I think its attributed to lower maintenance costs. Yes MPG is not great but I think it nets less cost per mile because of maintenance costs lower than German make counterparts. Furthermore, the retained value of TLCs makes it a good buy.
Value propositions on tacos and 4runners would be just as attractive if rust issues are sorted.
