PCNA to delay GT3 Production?
#77
I checked on my build and it's one week ahead of schedule. Was scheduled to enter port of Emden on 3/19 but arrived there last week.
Anyone know what kind of timeline I should expect from here on out?!

Depends on where you are located. You can ch3ck the shipping schedule and come up with a guess. If in the northeast, it takes about 30-40 days once at the port to the dealer.

I’ve had my production schedule since 01/24/2018. While production has been shuffled back and forth a couple of times, everything is still as originally scheduled. Same date into body shop, same date of arrival at port as original schedule. Here are my options below. I cannot see how it would be Porsche Exclusive related given that I have not been delayed with all the Porsche Exclusive options, PTS, and CXX on my build. So if there really is a delay, perhaps it’s mostly related to ED scheduling and/or some unique odd option with supply issues?

My build went V215 today, it's a PTS with a Cxx option. I'm only 3 weeks off from my original build date when I was V215 in November, not sure any significant delays are out there.

AFAIK the car does not enter the production line at all ... it may be painted (not sure) but it will wait until *all* the parts can be delivered onto the line before it commences its journey... the barcode on the back bumper is "read" as the chassis travels across the main road from
the paint shop to the (top of) the production line, and literally (JIT) robot "trains" deliver the components to each station on the line just before the car they are destined for arrives there... AFIAK there is no mechanism to take the car off the line in mid production due to a part not being
available...

but its possible that they have some "holding" capacity there where they can languish until their particular slot becomes available - it would make sense to (at least) partially decouple painting from
production... a question to ask next time I take the factory tour ... whenever that might be!
