Went for a drive with my new PDK Sport wheel.

My horn button (that giant thing stuck onto the air bag) was in amazing condition, so the whole thing looks brand-new. Feels great. Paddles work great.

"GT cars" included many GT4 and Spyders, even if that's a misnomer according to many. There's a 2022 GT4 PDK on 200 treadwear tires I go back and forth with for fastest time. My car is a 6-speed manual, so he's got a leg up for most course designs, especially on the most recent course where a mid-course hairpin and other elements created shifting opportunities for the PDK. But I like to think I have more fun driving and still took the top! There were many GT3 and even a GT3 RS at the last one but I think they may have been disheartened by the results as most of those models didn't show back up. Just like anything, it takes time so I'm sure they'd take the lead of they came back for a few events.

First of all, 1st post here, I've been on 996turbo area for 10 years and really don't know why I didn't find a way here before. Anyways, a brother to my 996TT, a Boxster 987.2, base 2,9 with PDK.

Today new brake discs and pads, front and rear. Fresh brake fluid (I change fluids every year). A few weeks ago done

new water pump and belt tensioner pulley.

Very well spotted! It's a water tower close to my home, many call it a flying saucer. On top of tower is a restaurant called "Stork's nest"

Troubleshooting an engine hesitation issue. (Separate thread) Cleaned out engine bay and intake from a possible bad AOS. Little interior cleaning as well.

Was doing 65 on the highway this morning to work and got CEL with "reduced engine power" message, basically had to pull over and shut the engine off as the car didn't want to move.

There's a bunch of codes but the main culprit was P1552. Did some googling and turns out it's the 4-year old Optima battery that was dying. Today is the first cold day here at 0C/32F.

I read that Optima have moved their factory to Mexico and quality have gone down significantly. I knew this was going to bite me in the *** one day. My last Redtop in my 986 lasted 8 years and it was still going. Sad to see another brand go south.

Yep, like most things they're not what they used to be. Most batteries are made by the same few companies (including Optima), so best strategy is to get the lowest cost AGM battery with the best warranty to cost tradeoff, with dealer network being a factor as well so probably want to go with a chain store. I've been using the Duracell Ultra Platinum AGM through Batteries Plus recently for my non-track cars but haven't done a comparison in almost a year.

what kind of town is that?
in my neck of the woods, the only thing you'll find on the top of a water tower is a couple of city workers goofing off, smoking weed.

I washed my Cayman with naturally distilled water metrologically applied and agitated by high velocity airflow.

Ok, I drove to work in the rain.

Spoke too soon.... CEL "reduced engine power" came back on the drive home last night and P1552 error came back. I wonder if it's the alternator not charging the battery.
