😊 I feel that I found a sweet spot among 987 Boxsters, which was my aim. Serviceable IMS, add low temp thermostat, and drive it endlessly.

need the third radiator and maybe a 13psi oil line to the IMS, although on a serviceable version not sure the oil line is as necessary

I like the gold a lot on this, not something I would have thought to do. What are the lights you replaced the fogs with and how do they function?

Thanks, front grills will be next to get the gold treatment. I think it matches the gold flake in the dark olive metallic nicely. The LED front fog replacements were fitted by the previous owner, they work perfectly fine but I want to go back to stock for a cleaner look.

Cheers,
Julian

I’m not sure Stuttgart designers had this in mind. Went camping. ⛺️

getting mine out of storage garage tomorrow and replacing engine air filter, securing front trunk trim strip with new velcro fasteners and replacing black plastic battery bracket (appears to do nothing, but it's broken), then i'll be giving it a good cleaning on the outside.

update:
did air filter (filter from ebay."blue print" filter shipped from riga lativa at a reasonable price and looked to be an exact replacement)
secured front trunk trim strip with self-adhesive velcro
found out i haven't received shipment of the battery retention bracket yet.
enjoyed a 40 mile drive and didn't get around to cleaning it. ...welll...next time.

Yesterday, I changed my air filter.

I bought a Mahle filter from FCP Euro. It was the same filter as OE, without the Porsche part number.

The service record that came with my car stated that the last time my air filter was serviced was on July 27, 2016. A span of approximately 10K miles.

The date of manufacture - not sure whether it's May or August of 2015 - aligns with that record.

As you can see the filter was dirty - it had lots of small particles of dust/dirt embedded in its pleats.

My car was a CPO that I bought at a Porsche dealer. As a part of that process, it must pass a "comprehensive" Porsche CPO checklist.

Clearly the check at "air filter" meant that it had one, not that it was checked and replaced.

hope you didn't drop one of those tiny little black screws that secure the plastic air cover into the engine compartment and have it land on the undertray and have to jack the car up and unscrew the undertray to get it out.... you didn't do that did you? because it takes about ten times longer to do that than it does to replace the filter.

ick!!! That sounds horrible!! I use to do everything myself, mechanically I’ve lessened what I do…
back in the late 90’s I build a 9 second RX-7 and dropped a 10mm socket into an opening where the motor/tranny bolt up… took me 6 days with a magnet to get it out…. It’s those moments you just say enuff!!! Haha
