In Europe headlight washers are mandatory if you have xenon headlights.

I'm not usually a forum contributor, but I thought I should probably get involved on this topic. Here's my PTS 993 midnight blue metallic spyder. Oct build - picked up mid Dec.
Apologies for the rubbish pics, unfortunately they don't really do it justice.

That is So Nice!!!! Thanks for sharing! I think this is the first photographed PTS Spyder outside from the two Corporate cars (Miami Blue and Viper Green). Post more pics when you get a chance

Congratulations, wtsc! Looks awesome! Good choice on leaving the rims in silver; gives a nice contrast. Did you make any other notable customization?

Awesome! I have sapphire because I couldn't do PTS. This was a color I would have chosen. Well done!

But the base Xenon lights don't come with washers?

It's because the base Xenon's are not as bright as the PDLS or PDLS+ Xenons. It's primarily required due to those people that don't keep their car clean. When your headlamps get dirty from road grime, it can provide a brighter glare for oncoming traffic. The washers are to prevent this added glare from the grime collected on the headlamps.

Congratulations wtsc!

Milehigh asked me this question over on the 981 'Custom Ordering' thread
and here is my quick response. Can you tell us the exact color code of your
beautiful 'Blue Metallic' Spyder?

Saludos,
Eduardo

I can't find midnight blue metallic on the PTS list. Is it the same as night blue metallic or is it moonlight blue? Gorgeous color
Milehigh: We should ask the owner to clarify his exact color & color code.
But here is my take from what he has already told us.

There was a color in the 993 that we used to call in English-speaking
markets 'Midnight Blue Metallic'. I believe it was code 39C (F8). The
current approved PTS doesn't list that as 'Midnight Blue Metallic'.

There is 'Moonlight Blue Metallic' and 'Night Blue Metallic'. My guess is
that this UK customer ordered for his Spyder what PAG currently calls
'Night Blue Metallic', color code 39C. But we will have to ask him to
confirm.

Whatever the color code is, it's very attractive!

Yes, washers are apparently dependent on something else
besides just having 'Xenon' headlights. We had a similar
discussion about in back in 2012. I just 'google' the question
... and it came back to our old discussion! We are pretty good
& efficient here at Rennlist in discussion all key topics!

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/7034...t-washers.html

Perhaps someone has more updated information than what we had
back in 2012 for that discussion and can chime in. But the answer
seems to be that what triggers headlight washers on a modern Porsche
is PDLS, not just Xenon headlights (as Donavan correctly stated)!

I had a 993 C4S in midnight blue metallic. Frankly, the color is even more stunning on your spyder than it was on my 911.

Congrats on a beautiful and unique car. Well done!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on your new car. I'm still floored by mine.
