I am in Pickerington a little east of Columbus and have PIWIS2. With a lot of help and guidance from @nhnguy12 I coded the GT3 steering, PTV, cluster lights on, G-force display, actual coolant temperature and neutral display. IIRC the GT3 and PTV coding is quick and the other coding is more involved and time consuming. I will qualify that I am not proficient with the PIWIS and only used it a couple of times to do this coding several months ago and may need to review the steps involved, but would be glad to help. Maybe others in the Ohio area would like to organize a PIWIS coding gathering

I just put a rack in my car and the control unit variant A2.2 only has GT3 it's the A2.3 that has the GT3 RS. My original rack was 2.2 (part number .06) my replacement which was used, was 2.3 (part number .15) PIWIS 3 lists up to A2.6. Can you upgrade the control unit to the higher variants?

I was under the impression that the control unit was built directly into the steering rack itself. The replacement rack is still reading A2.2 on the PIWIS?
I believe there are flash files to update the control modules but I have yet to see anyone document doing this successfully.
The control unit is bolted to the motor which is bolted to the rack. The replacement is reading A2.3 up from the original A2.2. It just got me thinking if you could update the firmware. I searched a little and didn't come up with anything. I tried messing around in simulation mode unsuccessfully.

My apologies I misunderstood the original post. So you now have access to the GT3RS calibration? That's pretty cool.
I know there is a process to flash the modules but I have no idea where to get the flash files from.
Just had this upgrade done today by a local indy shop. Used a PIWIS3 (38.200 version) I took a video of the process that I will try to post later.
Agree with the feedback from post #22 and #151 above.

Hello everyone. I have a 2015 981CS, and recently got the VXDAS PIWIS II.
First off, a huge thanks to the OP and everyone contributing to this rabbit hole. Very helpful!
I've been searching and have yet to find an answer to this specific question...
My car came with Power Steering Plus (PSP) and I'd like to disable it just to see if I like it better turned off. Using PIWIS II, In the standard dealer mode (V), if you de-select the PSP option (658 - Servotronic) it will throw a warning indicating that you will need an activation code to re-enable it. So, the question is... If you disable Power Steering Plus (Servotronic) via Engineering Mode (V), can it be re-enabled without a dealer code?

Thanks!
I believe myself and others were able to toggle the servotronic setting on/off without any activation code in Engineering mode. If you enable the GT3 calibration it automatically overrides any Power Steering Plus assistance so it doesn't matter in the end.

Interesting, thank you! I did enable the GT3 calibration this morning and right now I think I'm a big fan of it. Thank you for digging in to this stuff!
I had seen a few comments around PSP effectively being overridden by the GT3 calibration, but I wasn't sure if that was an actual fact. The engineer in me really wants to officially disable it, but only if I can easily revert back.
I had my CGTS done by @Ernest72 last week. I have the PSP on my car but after the GT3 calibration it wasn't even close and it definitely feels like the PSP is overridden. The wheel as others have said, was so much lighter and easier to control instantly after the flash. At first I didn't know if I liked it but after driving it a bit its actually so much better than stock as it takes less effort overall to drive. It's as if the lightness of the wheel allows it to translate more feedback whereas the stock steering was "heavy" and muted. As with what was said before, the wheel on long sweeping turns tightens up giving you a bit more confidence through the turns. It's very apparent when you have the wheel on full lock making a slow tight turn. You will feel the wheel "bouncing" back a bit. All in all I think its a mod def worth doing especially if done for free. Thank you to the community and @Ernest72 for the kindness in meeting up to get this done!
