I can appreciate that. I just sold my 2004 Honda CRV 2 weeks ago with 160k miles on it (for a ridiculous amount as well). Kind of funny but I love both cars and was happy driving the Honda also. It's kind of funny saying to yourself, " do I want to take the beater or the Porsche"?
You must know exactly how I feel. It does what it does honestly, simply, and reliably. Hard to imagine another car filling the hole it would leave in my heart. I swear that generation of late 90s and early 00s Japanese cars were a special nexus of build quality, simple design, and modern engineering that will never happen again.

Yes, I know exactly how you feel. It must look strange to others on a Porsche forum to see two people singing the praises of an absolute utilitarian vehicle. No frills, just steady reliability. Stylish- no. Panache-no. Perfect for the grocery store, home depot, running the kids to soccer or errands. Unafraid to park it in any parking lot. Another door ding, meh. Don't care. Always the oldest, cheapest car in the school parking lot. Everyone there thinks we're poor.
Didn't care, there was Porsche in the garage. Now two of them.

Just picturing Dark Helmet driving either one of those. LOL!
This cracks me up. I had similar experience as I was driving a 2003 F-150 for 15 years and past 350K miles when I bought my first Porsche. It was just a bit different though as I bought used and everyone thought I was filthy rich or something. They didn't realize I had paid less for the Cayman they they were for their decked out SUVs. pickup trucks, and glittery bass boats.

That is exactly right. Until recently, a used Porsche was the same price or less than a late model Toyota. People that knew I had a Porsche thought it was over the top price wise but would have no problem spending that much on a truck or a boat.
As far as having the oldest, cheapest car in the parking lot, I had fun with it. My son goes to a private school and every parent was competing with each other for the most expensive Audi or Range Rover in the lot. I would pull in with my rust free but 17 year old beater CRV and act just as smug as everyone else.
That looks like the extended height console with the premium stitching. I bought an open box one from Suncoast on sale two years ago and love the look and extra storage.

I got this one on eBay for $250. Brand new takeoff from a 911.
“extended height” I found out only means that’s it’s from a 991. Same fitment except rear bolts need to be longer. Quick trip to Home Depot will address it
Tommy will not stop until every single panel on the car is alcantara with red accent stitching :-P . Also jealous that you center console doesn't have a single blank.
Just want to point out that if you have any cheapness in your center armrest, I posted in a thread recently where to put a bit of felt to make it feel solid.
