I took it to the track for my first HPDE event with the PCA. At my request I started the day in the intermediate group, but I moved up to advanced after lunch. I'm still learning how to be fast in this car and I have a ways to go, but I am making progress.
My original shifter has been coming apart almost daily for the last 2 months.
Installed a new Raceseng custom Stratose shifter. Powder coated in Sand Bar beige with perforated leather.
Wow wow wow that looks good.
Mine is in perfect shape but I was thinking of getting something a little heavier and maybe shorter. On a previous car I installed a Voodoo **** that was heavy and counter sunk so it dropped the height of the shifter and the extra weight helped to get a very satisfying shift feel without touching the mechanism itself.
Report back after you have used it for a bit, curious on your opinion.
My new gadgetry passed the hardware check. This past week I ordered a Garmin Catalyst along with shorter USB cables from Amazon, and a Garmin to Stilo audio cable from HMS Motorsport (I have comms in my Stilo helmet). I'll run this in addition to my Solo DL and GoPro cameras as I primarily want the Garmin for its coaching insights. The track test is coming up on the 28th at Sonoma Raceway.
Finally got around installing my new Chinese made headlight covers. Pain in the neck cutting out the old ones, but saving 2,400.- in the process is a good price to pay for the effort....looks like new and perfect fit.

Do you know if these come already coated with UV protection or did you have to apply your own? If they're already coated, hopefully the manufacturer isn't using the same OEM type that'll give you the same issue lol.

I'm not sure, however, my car is always garaged and I did not apply my own. At 400.- for the pair, I will just replace them again in 5 years or however long it takes I guess.
alvitdk - headlight cover replacement. How hard is it? Do you have to bake the headlight to melt the adhesive? Can you send some instructions? Thanks!
Did not take any more pictures but its quite simple. You can't heat it up, since Porsche is using a RTV gasket that is temperature resistant up to 500deg, your light will melt before the silicon softens up.
Remove the headlight, with a Dremel and cutting wheel cut around the parameter of the cover, right where the painted part stops. (See picture)
After the painted rim is removed, cut with the same cutting wheel around the parameter of the cover, so that you remove the top of the cover, but still having the edge glued into the light.
With a box cutter, cut on the inside and outside of the plastic to remove the silicon, take a plier and pull the remaining cover part out.
Clean the grove, add new RTV silicon and mount new headlight cover, lens or whatever it's called.
There is actually a better description with pictures, but he used a saw. I did that on my first cover but a Dremel all the way around works better.
