thanks a lot. it's definitely a good time to take her on another long voyage. i will try to pass by–and we'll grab some beer and you can drive her (before the beer). gonna have to let Jeff (grow 8 cylinders for an hour) and maybe see if Raj wants to drive her too.

Gene, it may be rare on 968's but there is a Honda Odyssey on my way home everyday that is identical in color. The Lagoon Green Odyssey affectionately named.

I did change the fuel filter, was unaware of the screen in the tank. Currently flowing fuel like a champ. Going to ship off injectors to Witchhunter for checkup.

Passenger side front caliper rebuilt. Drivers side will need to buy good used one. Spent way too much time messing with it on Sunday. Four screws that hold spring plates in are so rusted cant even get the allen wrench in. I dont have easy access to a welder to just weld a cheap wrench to them. (know the trick just cant perform it) A welder is one tool Ive wanted in my garage for years but just have not purchased. At around a $100 for a good used one Im already over invested in time on this one.

I have a 1970 Challenger T/A with a 340 6 pack and a 4 speed pistol grip for when i have that V8 itch. I like my 968s just fine with their 236hp 3.0s and that fine 50/50 handling.

recall that my headlamps are gone. i have about 50.5/49.5.... w/ maybe a slight reduction in understeer.... but the 255mm front tires and those massive brake rotors, and 285mm rears, the car is basically a road going version of F1....

Rule #1; The only thing better than a Sunbeam Alpine; is a Sunbeam Tiger with 4 extra cylinders......

Rule #2: The only thing better than a 968 is a 968 that weighs about the same with 4 extra cylinders and more than double the displacement and that smooth v8 power and can top 190mph.

It's as smooth as silk when just driving the back roads, but uniquely possessing a dark side....

If I get the v8 Itch i can choose German or USA Hemi, or sometimes 4Banger German Whip.

Lagoon hit the road this weekend...the maiden voyage. I put about 40 miles on her and worked the new brakes. Felt a little restricted in some way like the cat or muffler plugged up.

Any knowledge on these cars cats getting plugged/stopped up? That seems more likely to me than the two mufflers get plugged or stopped up...

Is there a test pipe/Cat delete out there at a reasonable cost or do people take matters into their own hands in some way to remove the materials out of the Cat. Is this doable? or something I will regret trying?

Thanks John

if the timing is pulled back, it might run like the exhaust is clogged. do you get any codes like the hall sensor?

the cat outlet will be hotter than the inlet if its working. a backed up cat will get cherry red.

Thomas, I bought an infra-red thermometer (have had many reasons to buy one and now purchased) and measured. The Cat was clearly hotter on the outlet than the inlet. 100 degrees or more.

The first muffler or resonator just behind the Cat did not really follow that hotter at the exhaust side versus inlet side but perhaps mufflers/resonators are so different than cats that the formula does not work there... The inlet was way hotter than the exhaust on the first resonator/muffler.

Possible that the resonator is clogged up?? 100K or so but sat for a long time, wondered if something crawled up in it and built nesting that clogged it. Not sure anything could get through the second muffler at the tail pipe though??
