Default Thinking of changing the color of my 968... NOW DONE!

Hi guys, I'm thinking of changing the color of my 968, I have a midnight blue, classic grey interior. I would of like to know if it will devaluate the car if it's not a number matching paint?
And for what color would you go?

thanks

Yes it will devaluate the car. A lot. Don't do it!

Flat black.

Please do it, I want to see what my car is going to look like!

Worst case scenario, it's really easy to paint over as the surface is rough enough to function as an excellent primer! Plus it's relatively cheap, so you're not out a lot of money

If your current paint is in good condition, then it's resale value will go down with new paint. If your paint is damaged or destroyed then new paint will raise the value (IMHO).

But the bottom line is, will the car be more valuable to YOU with a new color?

You can't ask US what color to make it, you should make it whatever color you like! How about yellow?

I wouldnt go with a crazy color, i would go with a kind of Audi TT aviator grey or something like that. But I'll see, i'm going to see a paint shop next week, I'll decide there...

I've always liked the idea of solid gray, it's interesting, you don't see it often.

IIRC, that's called Slate Gray. One of my favourite colours for the 968 and it seems that quite alot of 968s in the UK were specced in that colour.

I think charcoal is a great color for a 968. Black look but much easier to keep clean.

Thanks Ernie! But I meant non-metallic. Overall I'm a fan of the non-metallic spectrum, though I like some metallics too.

I had a Slate Grey coupe, very elegant. Midnight blue always seemed a little muddy to me.

That color is actually called Go-mango. I have a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A in my garage next to the 968 in just that color!!! Hemi orange is more of a red-orange.
