It looks like the blower will fit, but not sure on the cold air intake going to the blower. I hope it fits because it's what is needed on a S2 or 968 motor here a mile high in Colorado.

Default Water / Methanol Injection?

Carl,

I stumbled upon this thread last night while searching for my next car, which will be a 968. This kit will be high on my list once I find the right car.

After reading the entire thread and the talk about an intercooler, I was wondering what a water / meth injection system, like an aquamist system, would do instead of an intercooler and if you or any one has any thoughts on this.

My current (and soon to be previous) project is a Volvo 850R that's factory turbocharged. The guys at IPD (www.ipdusa.com) have developed a stage three kit with the aquamist system with good results and I have contemplated installing this system on my non-intercooled 924 turbo (which will be replaced by the 968). Also have you measured the intake air temp to see how much rise there is? The Volvo is running 15 to 18psi (depending on the ECU remap) and has a factory intercooler, but 18psi is a good amount and generates a lot of heat, at 6psi would it make that much a difference for the $$$ spent? The aquamist systems are expensive, there are other systems out there for about half their price, like Devilsown (http://www.alcohol-injection.com) It would be interesting to see the HP per $ with this added.

Awesome kit though, makes waiting for the car that much harder.

There is no doubt that a water/meth system will boost performance if installed correctly. But the point needs to be made that it is not neccesary to prevent detonation on our kit. Do it because you want to - not because you think you need to.

We designed this kit for very high adiabatic efficiency and low temperature rise so that no intercooler would be needed. It performs very well as-is, and is an elegant and uncomplicated install.

Take it from here and go further with it if you like!

Any thoughts on making a custom camshaft for forced induction to fix that torque curve?

Go right ahead. The way these kits aren't selling, I cannot justify a bunch of 968 development.

Hi Carl, given the times, it might be slow.. I don't think your efforts have been wasted. I plan to do a engine refresh in the near future and then the SC kit is going in. I trully think that once the first install has happend the news will spread and it will be the next thing on most 968's mod list. Hang in there

Carl, I am also waiting until early next yr to try the Supercharger kit. Don't get discouraged, we will be coming soon. It's a tough market.

could you offer a higher HP kit with a thicker headgaskett to lower compression and intercooler? everyone wants HP...

i can also do some search engine optimization for you if the kits arent selling - http://venturait.com

the good thing is that supercharged 944s and 968s will beat turbocharged 944's 968's off the line, so they are better for areas with shorter straights...

I'm in the same boat, as soon as things start to rebound, I'm in for the kit...

Not exactly. These kind of superchargers are just like a turbocharger, only difference is that it's belt driven instead of exhaust driven.
