I'll bite [I sent you an e-mail btw, not sure if you got it]...

Buying a whole bunch of stuff from Parts Heaven for the 968 [various screws, clock light, shifter leather, ebrake handle, etc].
Removing 968 CS steering wheel from 944 and installing stock steering wheel.
Removing 993 leather seats from 944 and installing stock seats.
Removing 944 Turbo wheels from 944, buying new tires for stock rims, and installing stock rims.
Cleaning 944 ICV.
Swapping car stereos between 944 and 968.

Umm...then wash and wax the 944 because I've got people who wanna buy it!

I'm getting the track car ready to go to NASA Nationals at Mid-O.

1. Install new muffler (supertrapp - light weight and adjustable)
2. Dyno at 3pm to tune (Sat.)
3. Add ballast and corner weight the car (just got my scales yesterday!)
4. Paint new fiberglass parts
5. Change fluids
6. Other odds and ends to finish car
7. Almost forgot - stock beer fridge, empty beer fridge

I might know what Raj is talking about

Tomorrow I plan to fit a sticker in place of the front panel Porsche emblem that flew off last week when doing agressive WOT progress and replace a broken plastic sill.

I gather from recent talks with people who used a similar part it may be a bit radical for a road car as far as comfort is concerned.

Thom, I guess it depends who you speak to. For me its a non issue and also it all depends on what is actually used, the real deal or a knockoff.

I will be inspecting the clutch on the blue 968 (hopefully), polishing my red 968 (hopefully), and posting the 993 up for sale (hopefully). The definitelys include food, sleep, and food.

Well, a little background 1st. I had been in conversations with Colin from 9M regarding the Porsche Motorsports single piece flywheel replica that they sell. I had concerns about vibrations and such and was assured that there were no such concerns with his flywheel since it was a true knockoff. As luck would have it, a good friend (his name will remain anonymous unless he wants to come forward) offered me the opportunity to buy the real deal, the NLA Porsche Motorsports single piece flywheel. Now I know, there are things in life you don't get a 2nd chance on and in my books this was one of those rare opportunities. I jumped on the offer and gave the asking price without any haggling. I had enough faith that my friend had already done the best he could.
So, there it is, my rare, single mass flywheel.

I started working on it last night, spent around 3 hrs getting everything out. This morning I was up early to finish the job and was done in another 3 hrs. I decided to swap a few other parts while I was at it. I changed the slave cylinder, O2 sensor and installed a new starter just to be on the safe side (didn't want to do any damage to the starter ring gear). This required a clutch re-bleed obviosly.
The car started right up and came to a smooth idle. I revved the engine and this thing was very quick to redline, almost BMW like. So far so good. I pulled out of the garage and noticed right away how smooth and soft the pedal was and how smooth the initial bite was. There were no funny sounds, no vibrations, no funky revving needed to get moving and the shifter remained steady and smooth at all revs.
I am very very happy with the way my car revs now. I would warn though to make sure you buy a unit that is balanced, weighs the same as the factory piece (better harmonics) and you will not regret it. It is my 2nd mod on the cabriolet and so far the best one yet.
To make sure I wasn't biased, I drove over to Steve's place and had him drive it. Hopefully he will chime in with his impressions. Damian should be driving it soon as well and will share his impressions.
Thanks again to my anonymous friend for considering me for such a rare piece from Porsche Motorsports.
Regards.
Raj
