Wow, I had no idea you were going to tackle the entire paint job yourself. That’s a major task in itself. I can’t wait to see the results after you have finished wet sanding and polishing.
Out of curiosity how many coats of base and clear did you use? Did you wet sand between any of the coats?

The primer was wet sanded with 600 grit prior to the color being applied. The paint system I am using (Cromax by Axalta) requires the color to not be sanded, and it needs to be clear coat within 24 hours. The clearcoat has also been wet sanded with 600 grit and will get another coat. As for the color it was 3 coats before clear coat

I think I had it in mind to do it all myself when I started . As I progressed It became a full blown desire to do so. Now it has turned to an obsession

There is something to be said for doing it all yourself. A true labor of love.
How many coats of clear? 3?

Painting in your garage by yourself is a boat load of work. I haven't done it that way since HS many eons ago. Although I used Imron which I later learned was not a healthy product.

Your determination is humbling to the rest of us mopes.
Hope you get to drive that car for thirty years, after all the work.
Well done, and keep up with the photos!

That's a great idea. I do that with a lot of my projects. Break them into pieces and do the smaller quicker ones first. It gives me the feeling like I am really making progress. Good luck, it looks great so far.
