Ok before getting back to the lobsterman's landmine (new name)

Something came for me the other day.

Anyone can maybe tell what it is and why it matters? This one is for me...a little gift.

Wheel bearings went in the front today. Wheel carriers were soda blasted, soaked in apple cider vinegar for a few weeks, shot with etching primer and then satin black...

I had left the bearings in through that process so as to not have to mask off the area. Out they came and new ones pressed in...

I must say this is a such a great thread. I've just realized that I've been taking it all in, from cider vinegar to blingy bits, and haven't posted any comments. Thanks Goughary for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to post so many detailed pics of the process.

While the carriers aren't in yet, you may want to check the grease?

Wow thanks for the bearing link. That's pretty scary stuff. I guess for the six bearings that have been pressed in so far, we can take our chances since they aren't coming back out, but for the remainder I'll definitely be pulling them apart and regreasing...

Wow that new bearing coming with little to no grease is scary. I installed my rear bearing last year and for now on I'm checking all of mine!

Plating looks good, especially for the price. Is that a later style pedal cluster? What's the plan there?

That's a 993 pedal box that's getting rebuilt for my car...these guys are all getting so much awesomeness...I need to stay one step ahead so my car is always just "that subtle little bit awesomer"....

Tomorrow should be front diff seals and some other hopeful progress. Mike started cleaning the right rear today, so that'll have to continue tomorrow as well. I'll send out today's update a little later.
