Studs arrive soon. Here is a pic of a 50mm stud next to an oem stud. So for use with a 5mm spacer, this stud should be the right length. Anything more and you need longer.
The tool I found on eBay is perfect for pressing them out and can be done with this on the car or off...pretty easy.
Note on the bull nose. You can no longer use the oem alluminum nuts if you go bullnose on the studs...unless you chop the heads off..

Today was a bit of rebuild on the front. We still have some parts consign out back and have to handle some scope creep before proceeding, new heater tubes and orings, and some other stuff, cleaning and sealing...with the holidays, I'm way off schedule and things are shipping slowly...
But, the fender liners, tie rods and sub frames and sway bar went in today. Haven't torqued anything yet, but it's there and ready to get put together...

Installed the studs before breaking for Christmas...
The only variable now in the front, and potentially huge hazard, is when I change the brakelines to Goodridge stainless, will they be seized? If they are, I'll have more to do before assembly, if not, onward...
Someone once told me the torque spec on brake lines is 11 ft/lbs. anyone care to verify that?

Since we're beginning assembly, thought I'd share some of what's coming for the interior.
I bought a set of 944 sport seats six weeks ago. They looked like this when we picked them up from a Porsche mechanic an hour away.

Goughary had some designer fabric from Maharam and he offered it to me for the Lobster Rocket.
Photos don't convey the cool texture and colors of the fabric well. The white stripe actually changes to an electric violet at different angles under sunlight.
We sent the seats off to Robert Budd of Classic 9 interiors in Michigan via Greyhound shipping.

Got the seats back yesterday. Went into my shop for the fabric to be treated with a protectant.
They're drying now. Hope to get them into the car soon.
Anyone made stands for their old seats to use them in your home or shop? Bonus points if you've kept the seat heaters working.

So this came. Enough silicone vacuum hose to do a bunch of cars. I chose to change the color to make it obvious what was changed. I'll be interested to see if it works. If not. We will go back to crackly brittle hose as was oem...
