{.... although I would love to hear why you sold your GT4 for your 991.2 C4S,... or whether after you did it, you thought it was indeed the right choice for you}

If someone is looking for a car that they can drive and enjoy all the hard work I put into mine, I'm listing mine. I'll be taking a huge loss on it but it makes financial sense with everything going on:

thanks for the feedback! I will be reaching out to the dealer and keep you posted..
Hard to say depending on the damage that was done this could be one of the very last 964 C2's made. They only used 396 vin numbers for all of 1994 coupes this included 267 C4 widebody cars. So being Vin 300 is something you don't see everyday and we rarely see 94 C2's anymore since so few were made. Assuming it is clean needs nothing car I would say the price is right but what is selling in this crisis? So you might be able to get it for less. Problem is finding anyone to do a PPI. There aren't enough pictures to say what is going on.
That 90 sold for strong money considering the list of needs and associated costs.

bweSteve--I hope the market for my 991 hasn't evaporated!
I had the 991 on order and the GT4 dropped into my lap at MSRP +$2k when everyone was asking $10-20k over for them. Bought it, held it through the winter, and sold it in the spring and made a little coin. I also ran the sale through my dealer which also reduced my sales tax on the new 991. Bonus! I did put about 300-400 miles on it, and man did it have a lot of personality. Handled like crazy, torquey, aero you could feel in high speed corners, and a great exhaust note. I loved it. In the end my wife and I sat down for a strategy talk. She wanted to keep it bubble wrapped for several years and sell it. I explained Porsche had made more than the initial projection and the value wouldn't be there. I was willing to cancel on the 991 and keep the GT4 and drive it (and save $40k).. Ultimately we opted for the greedy capitalist route (just a joke, my wife had her own successful business--we're capitalist's!), and sold it. Sigh.

this one is rough and didn’t sell on eBay , posted by flippers there but also here in RL. ,
maybe someone is looking for a project. Does anyone know this car? $45,000 for 150K mile C4 in such rough shape I don’t see it selling anywhere near that price.hood fitment is way off too.

It was posted in here yesterday by the owner but I'm not seeing it. It's probably more like a trade-off at that price, if the body is good they probably need a reseal, if the reseal is done, they probably need bodywork, lol.
Having only one distant pic with so much detail about the shortcomings in the ad didn't make much sense to me.

I do wonder what happened with the ebay auction; maybe there was an attempt to consign the car that fell through.

... but in hindsight, the only trade-across that I might have considered, would have been to take that $40k savings you had in the GT4, and apply it to the purchase of a 964. Then keep both the GT4 & 964. I say that because my combo of 964 Turbo, and 997.2 GT3 just completely tickles my fancy in a HUGE way. And it was my wife who had the biggest input into keeping the 964T & adding the 997 GT3. We love manuals, and in the last 2 years both of us have each taken one (& swapped too) while out during all-day western maryland & west virginia tour drives. sooooo much fun to do. Plus with the 2 extra passenger seats available, we get to invite other couples to come with us!! Really makes for a fun day when we get to eat lunch & dinner out on the road & talk about the experiences.
.... Looking forward to a summer without quarantines & open roads....

Steve--That's a great suggestion, and would have given me a terrific P-car combination. I should have bought a 964 in 2011 when I bought my '89 Carrera. I only paid $25k for a very nice Carrera. 964s were selling for less than Carreras at the time. I wasn't crazy about the bumper styling and, of course, I'd read all about the leaky engines and reliability issues. It's because of my buddies 964 C4 that I've come to appreciate what a great 911 they are. I'm looking forward to owning and driving the one I just bought. I'm going to take a deep breath (not too deep) and hop on a plane, with my 964 buddy, to Mesa, AZ and drive it home. I bought my Carrera in NY and my oldest son and I flew out and had a four-day road trip back to Utah in it. That was memorable.
