I think you're confusing things. The Ruf is the Michelangelo: innovative, challenging, unique, pioneering. The Singer is the rose gold Patek with pavé diamonds on the face. If you love cars, buy a Ruf; if you love jewelry, buy a Singer.

Trickery?? CF panels in the 1990s represented advanced technology. CF panels in 2014 are little more state-of-the-art than fiberglass. And speaking of Volvo, I think they're experimenting with energized CF body panels in some of their cars. Innovation.

People acting like Singer has carried out some type of breakthrough reengineering job on the 964 need to go read through the America GS thread a couple of times and re-evaluate.

Quite honestly, I'm almost lost for words on this subject, but, we all have a choice to do what we want to do with our money.
No one, in my mind can claim that Singer have not built a beautiful car that is exciting to look at and according to the reviews I've read is a great car to drive.
So if you have the money to buy one and it's what you want, then it's you're choice to buy one if you want.
Singers price, is their price, that is what they are going to charge you for the work they do, so why should anyone dispute its value. A Singer is not the car for you, if you don't like the price.
You have many alternatives to do with you're 964 what you will. drive it into the ground, keep it in good running order, Back date it, build the car into your own vision or keep it totally original, maybe never drive it, keep the miles low (but I don't think there is many of us on this forum that would want to do that) etc etc.
My guess is that many on this forum and around the world have spent many more £, $, €,¥, CFH's or whatever you currency is, and many people would consider us mad for doing so, but it is our choice.

Am I the only person that would rather have the look of a 964 then the mid 60's early 70's look?
Yes, I'd say you're pretty much a party of one on this.....

Well.......

I wouldn't mind having both in my driveway. The diamond ring Singer and the ruff Ruf.

But I wouldn't sacrifice my own little 964 for either...

I find the wheel arches to be the best shape ever, front and back, the front one are really well design better than on the 964s turbo, in my opinion...
a part from that.... not really my taste, to much luxury for me, I don't like the front or the back bumpers
well the engine is obviously fabulous and all the suspensions and brake components.
looking at my bank account, I take the steering wheel for now....
I appreciate all the work involve, but the price is really high ...Mind you... you pay for the brand ...

It's amusing how much hate Singer's get. It just seems like "tall-poppy" syndrome to me...people just love to attack the successful guy....

Really - Rob had an idea of his ideal 911. Frequent requests to buy the 'brown bomber' revealed a business opportunity. The guy with the brain saw an opportunity to connect his passion with a market and he created a business to meet that demand. Bravo!

They make beautiful products and there's obviously enough demand to support the business.

No one's making you buy a Singer.

Can't we just enjoy the cars? Even the ****ty ones are often interesting!

Default Intention vs method .... make my Singer 911 metallic silver /black leather everywhere

+1 Agreed.

Well said. Singer group had a shared passion, an idea, taking the gargantuan leap to an actual product. In reality a huge undertaking.. Bravo Singer people.

Do we really have to slow down for these people...
