It's a different type of leather - I think Porsche offered 3 types for the seats - regular, perforated and ruffled, the latter being more expensive I think, and also rarer.

If you look at the photos Colin posted above, you can see that the leather is not flat - it has some light folds/creases in it - this is where the ruffled name comes from.

Nice buy! You have to grab the non-sunroof cars when you seen them eh! Welcome back to 964 world!

Well, technically I have never left it as we still own Kermit, there is a LHD 9m64RS in pieces all over the workshop waiting on the shell preparation and we also have a RHD 964 Tip that is waiting on a reconstruction. The big difference with this one is that I can drive it, I suppose?

I can feel an eBay auction coming on for that interior, but at least I now know that it is called Cashmere, not biscuit, thanks to you boys. There is some usual wear on the drivers side bolster which I will probably have repaired or re-trimmed, otherwise it is pretty mint.

ok, I dig ruffled. I did not notice in the pic at first or I would of assumed that is what it meant.

I've always been a sharing type of guy so it's a pleasure to post threads up that are actually appreciated by genuine enthusiasts, which is definitely one of the reasons why we all spend so much time on Rennlist. I cannot promise that this thread will be the usual riveting project as there is no definitive end game just yet, it's probably going to be more like a continuous blog with regular updates as I sift through the problems and irritations of the car and gradually get it to how I really want it.

One of the reasons for buying the car was to use as a test bed for a new 9m 964/993 performance engine package which is planned for final development early in 2014
Hi Colin - I'm delaying my own upgrade plans (currently thinking VRAM conversion) to see what 9m come up with - guessing this is off the back of the 74 RSR recreation project? Very excited !!!

Focussing on the lightweight theme - is there development potential of getting 996 brakes/ PCCB to fit?

I was informed SCoM sold Kermit a couple of weeks back to Paul in the UK?
Is there two Green Cup Manthey cars?

The C4 market is (IMO) underserved; I'd love to see a 9m hi-po C4 setup. With an S4 as your daily, you obviously appreciate the benefits of awd...

He's already installed a set, years ago in fact. Some old threads mention it (would link, but on my phone) and even pics on the 9m website (old one, not cloud9). Would also love to hear more.

There is an agreement but as far as I am concerned Kermit is only sold when we've got the money in the bank. Simple.

You are right that we are building a spin-off motor from the new all-out 9m race engine that is destined for the back of the 9m11RS-R, but all I can say about the new engine packages at this stage is that they will be both unconventional and extraordinary should we achieve close to the performance potential that the computer models suggest. :-)

It is true, we have dabbled with PCCB brakes in the past when a customer requested us to take his car to Mov-it for the conversion. Although the conversion was a success, I doubt that Ninemeister will be considering ceramic discs as a viable option for the aircooled 911 range just yet.
