Default RS Drop Link ?

I installed the RS drop links on the front combined with a RSA sway bar. When the steering is at full lock the brake line is very close to the drop link. Should I be concerned?

I would appreciate any pictures of RS drop links installed.

Thanks!
Jim

The drop link is up side-down. The "bump" is supposed to be upwards.

Thomas, are you sure?

Looks the same as Boxseys fitment on this thread

Mine were fitted that way by my P-car specialist so I certainly hope they are the right way round! Not had any problems with them contacting the brake line.

If you are getting intermittent contact you could place a slit piece of tube (PVC, rubber, fuel line, whatev...) over the brake hose and ziptie it in place. I've used this technique to protect wiring for years- the tube is like conduit.

I am thinking the same thing. If the link is flipped, the bend (bump) would be on the top creating more clearance for the brake line.

I installed mine per Boxsey's input on a thread. It was the only picture I could find after several searches.

Maybe someone has a picture or would be kind and take one of their factory RS set-up.

Thanks

The link is upside down. Also, I would install the factory rubber brake lines and remove the stainless steel ones.

Default is your locknut loose?

I see some space between your locknut and the lower spring perch adjuster nut. After the ride height is set, this should be locked down or it will slowly loosen lowering your car and losing corner balance.

I will check mine again at the weekend. That photo I took is very distorted so I can't say for sure if the bump is up or down. I know for sure from the part numbers that they are on the correct sides. If I find out that they have been put on the wrong way round, I am going to be very pissed off!

I'm not familiar w/ these pieces, but it does look like if you installed it going the other way (you would have to flip the links across sides of the car), that it would create more clearance.

I just installed the ECS Tuning Exact Fit brake lines on my car and I transferred over the plastic coil protector sleeves from the OEM lines to the new ECS lines.

Boxsey, you may need to spank your specialist

At full lock I only had room to slide a piece of paper between the brake line and the link which created my concern.

Working from home today - above garage!

Just been downstairs and checked my RS - the curved part of the link is at the top to allow it to clear the brakeline - on my car at least.

Cant get a decent photo but this is almost there, not sure if I have uploaded it correctly.....note to self - must clean underside of car.....

Wow,

So the one thing we do know, is that some people have their drop links on the wrong way up!!

Now to establish who!!, though my guess would be that Asbi's RS is almost certain to be correct
